What do you think the sun will be like at that time? Do you know what time the sun sets then? I talked with my TA and she said that she will check into the honeymoon suite. If they are located together, I guess we will be neighbors. We can hang a sheet between our balconys for privacy! lol! To upgrade, it was going to cost us a whole lot more so I believe we're staying with the suite because I would rather that extra $ go towards my photographer. Do you have most of your planning done?

Here is what I got from Ana. She said with the ala carte menus you can mix and match (make substitutions) but with the buffet you cannot. She also told me that if you have more than 40 people you have to have the buffet.
So you have to have the buffet if you have over 40 people? Do you know if there is any flexibility in the buffet menus they offer? We we will definitely have over 40 people...but I don't know if any of the 3 buffet choices are what we were looking for unfortunately. Did she happen to tell you the pricing per person for the buffet options?

Thanks so much!!
Nicole

Hi Nicole,
She was very vague...just said you have to have buffet if you have more than 40 people. She did not tell me the pricing either. I won't have over 40 people so no problem for me but maybe you should email her and ask these questions. I find that when I email her if I number my questions she answers them all. Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Good luck:)

I am looking into this today because Jose quoted me at $350 round trip for everyone. He also said we could snorkel, I just think I am going to keep it at the 3 hour sunset cruise.
I am also talking with a company called Cancun Catamarans. The owner of this also owns a transportation company. He quoted $75 round trip for 14 people. So I would probably need 3 shuttles. That is $225. I don't know if that deal is only good if I go with them for the catamaran cruise. I then started thinking that it might be best to go with the same company as the cruise. This way if the transpo is late for any reason, they would probably be more willing to adjust their time. Whereas if you go with a different transp company and you are late...then what happens? I'm paranoid that way. I want everything to be perfect, so I am just thinking that I might pay the $350 (If I go with Marina Cancun).

He said the boat is 44 ft. Supposedly it holds 40 people. It didn't look that big in the pictures, but I guess it is just hard to tell. How many people are you planning on having?

I originally planned at 6pm wedding (june 19) and Ana suggested that I change it to 5pm. After looking at sunset times, the sun does not set until 7:31 on that day!!! I am starting to think that maybe the wedding ceremony is too earlyhuh.gif Any suggestionshuh.gif Are any of you getting married in the summer when the days are really longhuh.gif Since I am not having a cocktail hour I was thinking I should probably push back the ceremony time... maybe to about 5:30 or 6:00huh.gif?
This is weird. Did she say why she suggested 5pm?? I am getting married in May (7:15 sunset) and I originally wanted a 5:30 ceremony. Ana suggested 6pm instead. I wasn't sure about that, but actually it is consistent with something I read on a photographer's website. So I guess I am ok with it. It just feels like I am cutting it close. Hopefully the ceremony starts on time!

Hmm, I booked my date last September and paid the deposit in October. Do you have a travel agent that can find out for you? My travel agent helped me with mine.

I stayed in the Honeymoon Suite when I was on my site visit in November. It was ocean front, which was awesome...but it is true that the decks are not private at all. We got lucky and no one was staying next to us. But it is like one big deck with some bamboo in between separating the different rooms. I don't know if the other decks are more private. Do we get the honeymoon suite? I just booked a garden view room.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
