Has anyone heard anything about fake flowers being illegal on the beach?

I have an order in for real touch flowers and was planning on having my pictures on the beach but just read something somewhere that mentions only real flowers are allowed on the beaches in Mexico due to the fake ones not being eco friendly.

Anyone know anything about this?

My wedding is in the beginning of April... this sucks not knowing..

Amber, your dress is beuatiful, looks like it would be fun to wear too

I think if the 'fake' flowers are your bouquet, it should not be an issue, but if its rose petals that are to be scuttered on the ground pre-ceremony or thrown for your exit, they may have an issue with that, if the plastic goes into the ocean it cant be environmentally friendly. Just a thought.

Let me start by saying ---- I CANNOT KEEP UP WITH THIS THREAD ANYMORE!!! ha ha!!!

A few months ago this thread was soooo quiet!! I am glad there are so many more brides on here!

For those of you who have not heard back from Ana, be very patient. I know it sucks, you want the answer right away, but it takes time. She needs to respond to those who have weddings coming up first. My wedding is in June, which is only about 4 months away, and I still have to wait for her responses. Those of you who are later in the year, just be patient! (Even though it REALLY SUCKS)

For those of you who are worried about your location, when I asked Ana about it she said it does not matter when I tell her. Since, I was the first bride to book on my day I had first choice. I am assuming she is doing the same for everyday.

There are so many posts on here that I need to respond to... I have a lot of info from Ana already so once I have more time I will get back to some of you with info.

Have a great day everyone!

I emailed Ana on this because I wanted fake flowers to be on the back of our chairs. She told me that it was against Mexican Law to have any fake flowers on the beach. So I would guess if you are planning on having the ceremony on the beach any fake flowers are not allowed. I would ask her again and see what response she tells you.

Beautiful dress...it looks really fun! I thought that I had read that this was the case, but I'm also waiting to hear about the rules from Ana. I will let you know if I hear back!

I hope that's not the case! Let us all know if you hear back from her. It seems like a lot of brides in Mexico in other threads on this forum had fake flowers on the beach - so I hope we're allowed!

Hi everyone,

After pouring over the various locations and resorts in the area, I finally chose DRC as my wedding venue and am super excited. I have a million years to wait--I reserved May 14, 2011 (really early, I know) about an hour and a half before sunset. I wanted to give all our friends and fam a year's notice and also give us time to save up, so it made sense for us.

Now I guess I just sit around and only plan a few little things until like a year from now. That does not sound so bad to me! :)

I am grateful to everyone on this thread for helping me get a sense of this place and the packages and whatnot. If anyone new has any questions about basics I am glad to answer them.

Happy Weddings, all!

Hi Icraney! Congrats! I know how you feel about searching for resorts!! It was extremely overwhelming. It sounds like DRC is pretty nice though:) Hopefully people who get married before us will post pics and help answer some of our questions! Good luck planning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
