How far in advance did you send out your invitations? and when did you set your RSVP date for? I'm not sure what the general etiquette for this is when it comes to destination weddings!

So, I found also that there is someone, who is also on the forum, who makes these. Her name is Mishka from Mishka Designs. She is super nice and her maracas are hand painted and really pretty. She is in Puerto Vallarta and will ship the maracas directly to the resort. I thought this was great..they look beautiful and I don't have to worry about buying them down there or packing them to take with me! Here is her website...

and here is the thread about her work...

By the way...I just noticed my ticker is down to just days...yikes!!
Those are so cute! I love how they come in so many different colors/patterns! Any idea on what the prices are? I didn't see any on the blog.

And congrats on being in the homestretch for your wedding! Not too much longer :)

My FI and I have talked about it but i'm not sure if we will end up going to a different resort.. it would be nice since I know some of our guests are staying for a full two weeks - so if we stay at DRC we're bound to run into them once or twice and won't feel very private for our honeymoon!

We are leaving the day after our wedding and spending a week up in Cancun at the Sun palace. It is a adult only resort. So we will be at DRC for 5 nights and at the Sun Palace for 5 nights. We figured we wanted a little change of atmosphere after spending some time down in the RM. Also, some of our guests will be around the second week and its our chance to get away with some time on our own.

Yeah we also thought about maybe staying the full two weeks at DRC with everyone.. and keeping to ourselves for the last week.. and then maybe In January 2011 we'll go on an actual honeymoon just us two.

Maracas start at $4.50 usd each for a simple design, two-tone maraca. An example of that would be Lacy Romance or White Flowers in my blog. It's $5.00 (total order) for each additional color and $.25 per maraca for line of text (i.e. $.25 for date, $.25 for location, $.25 for names).

You can check out her site and she is on Facebook for all the different designs - as they are all hand painted you can pretty much get whatever. I have already spoken to Mishka and what I love is they also deliver these to your hotel, depends on where but I believe DRC was USD 40 delivery charge

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
