Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Yeah signature drink would be great.. I have given it some though as well but could not come up with anything yet, our colours our turquoise/blue and coral/pink. Our linens will have the blue overlay so not sure that a blue drink would have that pop of colour, but I don’t see all the guys drinking a pink drink... I considered just going for a bright yellow or green to make it stand out. Like in a martini glass most likely. I have also seen tequila tasting set up with a blue martini glass with lemon wedges in it, looks super pretty - if you don’t know what I mean I will dig up the picture and post it here :)

Happy planning!

I love the signature drink idea! I too am having turquoise and pink for my colors. I think I am going to go with a pink drink because that is the accent color. The guys will just have to deal with the pink!!! ha ha!!

I am not having a cocktail hour though... I just didn't see the point in paying extra for something that is already paid for in the stay sad.gif I am thinking about having the drinks at the actual ceremony. We are VERY laid back and it will really show our personality with cocktails at the ceremony. I am going to ask Ana about it!

Does DRC offer the chivalry chairs? Or did you need to find a vendor yourself? I absolutely love those chairs and I did not think they offered them! Definitely worth $6 a piece!!!

Thanks for your help!
If you have less than 18 people you could reserve the wine cellar which is what we are doing. No cost for the dinner but you have to pay for wine and it estimated out at around $80/couple. I am having 10 adults so I was told I would need to purchase $400 in wine. I could probably drink this myself (LOL) so I figure this is cool for us.
However, my first choice would have been the pool deck at night. For me since I only have 12 total guests (2 kids along with the 10 adults) it was a bit too pricey due to the set up. When you have more people it is far more economical... I would look into this... Just e-mail Ana once you know how many people and she can give you a quote.

Thanks for the info! I had seen pictures of the wine cellar and it looks really nice! Do you happen to have Ana's email address? I've been waiting to get it from my TA, but he is being really slow about it!

Wow, this is great! We've got so many new brides and so much activity on here!!! If I'm not on here everyday it's almost hard to keep up.

I remember someone saying many pages ago that they didn't know how to multi-quote, and in the interest of reducing the number of pages new DRC brides have to scroll through to get up to speed on here, I just thought I would re-post this info about multi-quoting if anyone would like to use it:

ebernard our ceremony is at Secrets Maroma, and they recommended a vedor called planner1events, here is the contact info and you can also check out their site:

"Gabi Lavor" <[email protected]>

so far Gabi has been super responsive, and they quoted me USD 6 per chair, they only have white or gold, that was fine for me as I wanted white anyway, and white and ivory cushions (included in the price) we went with white chair, white cushion.

Hope that helps

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
