That is a very good point...and we're doing the caribbean buffet for the welcome dinner...yikes I might need to rethink this. I think I have to do a buffet though because we're having over 60 people...

Chris and Leah- July 9, 2010

We chose to have our reception where we live, so I hope it won't be tacky for us not to have one in Mexico also?

I haven't gotten very much done as far as planning goes, but I did get the options for the bouquets emailed to me- There is also a slideshow for extra charge bouquets that i cant quite figure out how to post, it keeps saying upload failed or something. But I can email it if anyone is interested.

I am going with the buffet. Personally, since I don't like seafood, the plated dinners, although sounding a little more formal and fancy, really didn't appeal to me. Luckily, everyone is arriving at the resort on a Thursday and my wedding is on Friday, so hopefully they aren't sick of buffets by then :)

I'm anticipating having to do a buffet because of the size of my group so I haven't really given it much thought, but actually I don't think that people will be buffeted out! There are so many a la carte restaurants, and you can even do a la carte for lunch, so I'm sure folks will eat at the buffet but probably not as much as at some other resorts.

I personally think that the plated dinner sounds nice, but on the other hand with the buffet you get more choices. I think your guests will be happy either way!

We cant do plated dinner regardless due to # of guests but I also considered buffett before as you only get once choice of entre with a plated dinner and thats tough if you have a large group

welcome to the group Kym - happy planning!

I just came up with an idea for my response cards, finally!

I didn't want to do the traditional response cards. Do you girls think this is cheesy?

Mine will say:

We look forward to celebrating with you

Please respond by March 12, 2010

___ We'll be there in our beach chic!

___ We can't wait to see the photos!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
