CJ- Paradisus Palma Real. I didn't see it on your map but it might be cut off. That is a great resource to have. Sounds like you've been busy!

So my WC e-mailed me with an invoice for 298.00 which was a complete shock because we are doing the complimentary wedding package. The invoice was for our cake and bridal bouquet choice which are explicitly stated to be complimentary. I chose a tropical bridal bouquet from their website (as the wording states the complimentary bouquets are tropical) but she says its "upgraded" so its 200.00. GRRRR. I am so mad. I love that bouquet. I e-mailed her and explained my reasoning. Hopefully she'll give it to me as it was on their website.  :(

In the meantime I have created a wedding website to post all our pics/plans/etc on. Its www.mywedding.com/georgeandkaitlin   if anyone is interested. The WEDPASS is 1023.

Yes, thank GAWD we are on the home stretch! I have been planning this wedding for the last 15 months so it is hard to believe it is right around the corner.

I just booked my dress fitting with a local Bridal dress designer and seamstress. The alteration hours at the wedding salon where I bought my dress were crazy (Wed - Fri 10am - 5pm). My sister-in-law who is tying my corset and doing the bussle lives an hour away and I hate to ask her to take a day off work to come learn how to tie the corset and bussle the back. Anyway, the local dress designer will work with me pretty much anytime I need - which is a God send.

I also found Spanish Dictionary at Chapters (in Waterloo) for $1. Yes, you read that right! It is regularly $20 but I guess they are blowing them out. So i bought one book for each couple as a wedding favor! Yipppee!

Hey there!! We're right next door to each other. On this map it has my resort (nh-Real Arena) right above the Paridisa Palma Real! We're neighbors! And when is your date? Maybe we'll run into each other! I get there on the 6th and leave the 13th. How exciting!

So sorry to hear about your invoice.

I'll take a look at your website! Mine is www.mywedding.com/curtisandtameka and the wedpass is "ThePerfect10"

The home stretch indeed!

The "tying the corset" delima I still have not figured out. My BFF tied it when we were in the salon but my mom is the one helping me get dressed so maybe my BFF can pre-tie it before we leave or something. I don't think my mom will "get it" and she may get frustrated.

Wow, I would love to find a deal on Spanish dictionaries! I can't find any anywhere! Congrats on that!

Oh! I didn't see it. Too bad our trips won't overlap. I get there the 23rd and leave the 30th. :(  I really like your planning site. It is beautiful and lively. You truly put a lot of work into it. I enjoyed reading the "Tidbit" section- I didn't know any of that about the starfish.

My SHOES came in today! They are perfect-

A thought that just crossed my mind and I thought I would share.

I read a forum post a few months ago that a bride's hair was really dirty/oily when she went to the resort spa for her wedding updo (thinking the salon was going to wash it before they started the updo). They don't wash your hair before hand!

So note to self: Make sure your hair is clean - preferably from the day before as slightly dirty hair is easier to style (or so my hairdresser told me).

Hope this info helps.

Thanks CJ.

Well POOP! The WC said that the resort considers the complimentary tropical bouquet to be National Flowers of the country. Any other arrangement, tropical or not, is extra. She sent me a picture of what it would look like and it is disgusting. Its basically carnations, yellow sunflowers, and some strange orange flower. I don't see how carnations and sunflowers are the national flowers (especially since Kansas is the sunflower state msnwink.gif)  The other thing that perturbs me is that they make the bouquet based off of what flowers grow seasonally so I wouldn't know what it would look like until I get there. So its either pay 203.00 for the bouquet I want or suffer with the free 'mystery' bouquet. Is anyone bringing their own bouquet with them? I've heard some brides using real touch flowers. I'm on a budget but I don't want to regret my flower choice.

Very Unhappy.

Again, sorry to hear about your dileama.

I havent even thought much about flowers. I've actually been putting it off because I know that's the one part of this that is going to make my head hurt. However, I really want to get a corsage for my mom and aunt and a boutineer fro my dad and brother. But I just looked at a real touch site and it basically said theres a waiting list and you need to order 6 months out.

I have NO IDEA what I am going to do about flowers but maybe I'll try to wrap my mind around it next week. I'm too spent to worry about it now.

Well I think that if you really don't like the free bouquet you should try and get on you like. Can you look into finding your own florist instead of going through the resort? Maybe it will be cheaper for you if your resort allows you to use outside vendors.

What about Michaels or another craft store? They sell real touch flowers and you can buy the ones you like and put your bouquet and everyone's flowers together.

Ok, at first when it took a week to a month for my WC to respond, I had no problem with it, but I thought it would get better the closer the wedding got. I now leave for Aruba in 60 days and it still takes from a week to a month for a response. I am getting annoyed. Honestly I had a better response time in the beginning of the planning when it was 7-10 months out.  I want to try and get the wedding plans finalized and get the prices and costs nailed down soon and I can't do that if my WC doesn't respond to me. I was suppose to get an event list with all the things we already discussed over 2 months ago and the few times I have talked to the WC he keeps saying I'll get it by next week.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
