Hey ladies- I'm getting married on Saturday in the Riveria Maya and the weather is terrible!  It looks like there may be a tropical storm this week...anyone else in the same boat?  We leave tomorrow and I'm about to be in tears if it ruins everyone's vacation!

dpitre- I don't leave until the 23rd so I'm not quite sure how the weather will be for me. I know that there is a tropical storm over there but it should pass towards the north soon.

CJ- Just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you yesterday on 10-10-10. They mentioned the significance of the date on the news yesterday! I hope you had a great wedding and that you are having soooo much fun. You'll have to let me know how Punta Cana was as I will be visiting there soon.

Congrats!

I wouldn't stress about the weather. There is nothing you will be able to do about it so it won't do any good to stress. And you the weather might end up being fine. I was in Riviera Maya in April at the Excellenace for a DW and it rained and was windy the entire week except for one day and honestly everyone had a great time. We drank all day and ate amazing food and went to the shows at night and it worked out just fine!

we just got back from 12days in the Riviera Maya!  I was in a full state of anxiety to the point of sleeplessness for the last couple of nights before we left.  We had rain for 1 1/2 days before the majority of guests got there.  It was still hot---pool and beach crowded on those rain days.  The weather for rest of the 12 days was HOT, high 80's with an occasional refreshing sun shower.  Take it day as it comes----the weather forcast changes every day---initially looked all bad for us and look how it ended up!!!!!!

mexico102 - you make a very good point! I will try to focus on it day by day (I leave in 3 more sleeps!). It is too easy to find stuff to worry about. Thanks for the advice.

Also want to mention to brides who have not left yet - I am bringing an energy product with me for the wedding day as I assume it will be long and hot and I will probably run out of energy with all of the photography and events planned. I bought 2 - one to try at home before the wedding and one for the wedding day. I am trying Energy+ All Natural Body and Mind Fuel. There are many energy products out there so find one you like.

Good luck to everyone!

Wendy!!! Have a wonderful wedding.

Ladies, try not to stress about weather. The storm warning was completelly lifted this morning for Mexico so lets all hope for blue skies for our fellow October brides. Besides, our worrying will not change the weather. Remember how lucky you are to be marrying your best friend...rain or shine.... some people dont get the chance.

I leave on Sunday and am so excited. To be honest, I can't wait to see my family at the airport. They are all coming in to where I live first then we are flying down together! I haven't seen them since Christmas last year. Yippee. Have a great day all.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
