Michele thats a great idea!  And congrats on getting your bubba kegs so cheap.  We got the automotive style too so they can use them after the wedding.  Is it crazy how excited mugs make me, lol.

For those of you discussing whether to do your legal wedding before or after, we are going to do it before.  Our wedding date is 10-28-10.  I was never really considering the 10-10-10 wedding because its a Sunday and all the packages to Cabo from Toronto are for travel Saturday to Saturday.  However, we figured why not do our legal on that day.  My mom is an officiant so its no problem having her officite our legal wedding on a Sunday.  We are keeping the legal part a secret and will have a "fake" marriage certificate to sign in Mexico so no one asks us why we didn't have to sign anything.

You are TOO cute!! LOVE LOVE LOVE both of them!

Wow I feel behind! I spent the last week back home and had my shower and bach party!! SO GREAT!! My mom and I also finished my invitations (message in a bottle) and they were mailed out Monday, so guests are already getting them. I am in LOVE with them!!! My TTD dress has been altered so it finally fits me and I have my 3rd fitting for my ceremony dress tomorrow. But now I'm worried about getting my decorations down there and also my OOT bags. 1/2 of our guests are being dbags (which it sounds like a lot of you ladies guests are too) and not booking, but still telling us that they are going. I'm going to do what another bride said and say 'too late' for those a month out. We have to pay for anything over 35 guests and we're right around that mark so every guest matters. Seriously, if someone were booking a caribbean vacation for themselves they wouldn't wait and book 2-3 weeks before, they would plan it out, right?

Me too. I am not stressed out. Why is that? I think I am just tired of planning!!!

Soooo I really should be doing stuff but I'm leaving Thursday night for Vegas and really that's all that's on my mind.

I'm still trying to figure out flowers and our cake isn't organized, we haven't finalized our ceremony script, my brother is assigned to music and I haven't heard from him in terms of how the playlists are coming along, my parents were supposed to pick the wines, haven't heard back from them on that, FI still doesn't have his tie or shoes, but at least he now has a suit, he really wanted OOT bags but nothing has happened, so we're super set!!!!

The weird part is I'm not really stressed at all?? WTF?

We are doing our legal ceremony on the 1st here in Toronto. I don't think it matters whether you do it before or after though. I think it's a personal choice.

Wow. That's a deal!!! Still... $4 per person for 55 guests is still expensive but I think they will really appreciate it. We have towels so we decided not to do the mug. Though if we have money in the budget, we would like to do shot glasses.

Score!

8 WEEKS!!!

I understand no documentation is needed. Just make sure your passport and reservations are under your maiden name if you are not changing your name before heading to Mexico. And I highly recommend not changing your name till you come back to avoid any complication!!!

OMG...I can't believe it's only 8 weeks away.

Did anyone get a linen suit for the groom? I still have not gotten outfits for my FI or the groomsmen, I'm soooooo slacking!

Chong - I agree they are still expensive but I think people will appreciate them and they are really the only big item going into the bags.  Everything else is pretty inexpensive.

So I bought all these luggage tags to send out to people before the trip.  However, now I am looking at the cost to mail them to everyone and I'm wondering whether its worth it to mail them out or just put them in the OOT bags.

So glad to see so many of you are so orgainized.  I have so many more things to do.

Passports came today! YAY!  Glad to check that off my list-

Managed to gain 5 pounds over the last couple weeks. Took my dress yesterday to an alterations lady to get quoted. I was expecting 150 + but she said that she could do it for *drum roll*  $60.00! I am ecstatic. She said not to bring it until 2 weeks before I leave in case I gain any more weight or lose any more. Apparently because my dress doesn't have any tulle or puffiness under it it will only take her a day or 2 to alter. :)

So this week has been great!

I've been playing around with different hairstyles as I'm doing my own hair for the wedding. For the ceremony I want my hair in a low messy bun and then for the TTD which we are having immediately after the ceremony I want to let my hair down- Only problem is each time I simulate this I get a crease in my hair which flattens the curls.

Any one know of any good hair product? I've been using Garnier Fructis XX volume. I know the product probably has something to do with the crease but I have to use something or I will lose all my curls.

I wish I had OOT bags to put together- Your ideas sound so cute. I'm definitely the arts and crafts kinda girl- Even though its just the two of us for our day I'm going all out on things like monogram, luggage tags, etc. :)

It won't be long til OCTOBER!!!!!

For volume, I absolutely love bumble and bumble thickening spray, I use it daily because I have very fine hair.  I'm still trying to work out my hair...I'm doing it (with my mom's help) and I have an idea but need to do a trial or two.  I don't have a good hairspray for stay as I usually don't wear any.

I sent all my paperwork to the resort over the weekend, per UPS it should be in customs tomorrow!!!  one step closer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
