Well, my resort is already booked for the wedding.

We sent out invites at the end of March

We have 8 people booked, including us, 2 more are definitely booking, and 6 more that say they are going but haven’t booked yet.

I am doing ivory roses for everything (my flowers, his flowers, the centerpieces, and the cake).

I already have my dress. I got it a David’s Bridal. I won’t get alterations or the bustle made till the beginning of the summer. I am hoping to lose 18lbs before I have it altered, otherwise I don’t need it taken in or up. I also have my veil (I’m actually wearing two, a cathedral length and one that goes to me fingers with gold embroidery on it like my dress). I just got my shoes (and I LOVE them). I just need jewelry, but I have no idea what kind I want with my strapless dress (earrings, necklace, bracelet…..)

My FI was going to wear a light tan suit but we just went to a DW and the groom had a black suit on (what I would want him to wear) and he said he liked it so he might get black. We will get that in early summer with my Dad and my brother (I want the 3 guys in my life to be wearing the same suit but my FI will wear a tie and vest and the other two won’t).

No BM or GM so I don’t have to worry about any of that.

I picked a photographer. We have 72 photos included in our wedding package with the resort and my WC sent us pictures from 4 photographers and I just picked the set of pictures I liked the best.

Our wedding package also includes a video of our ceremony. I think if this wasn’t included I would have wanted it anyway. I always wanted a wedding video.

We picked a cake design and decided on a place for the reception.

Everything else really depends on the amount of people we will have in Aruba. OOT bags, favors, music (DJ is there is a good amount of people), chair covers, sashes, cocktail hour, and food for the reception.

What are you ladies doing for your jewelry and what kind of neckline does your dress have?

Also, are you doing favors and OOT bags or just OOT bags or just favors?

I'm not doing favors really, just OOT bags but we will have cigars and pashminas set out on a table at the reception.

I have a strapless dress and am doing a multi tier necklace. Not sure about the earrings though. May just go for a stud.

We are doing the same. The cigars and pashminas are the favours.

Congratulations on booking! That ends up being the easy part! But at least you got a start.

Can't believe how quickly October is coming around!

I'm getting married on the 5th Oct 2010 at the Riu Tequila Mexico!

The wedding seems to be nearly sorted, just the FI outfit and rings to sort!

The AHR seems to be taking up most of the time! But getting there. We are having it 3 days after we get back from Mexico, so lots to do before we go!

Then we fly out to Las Vegas 2 days after that for our own little honeymoon! Which I've actually done no research into - hoping to book some shows before we go, but have a feeling we may be too busy....!!

I feel like the last week or so have been very "wedding productive." My wedding band arrived (its at a local jeweller being appraised), finally booked our trip, and met with the seamstress about changing my zipper back to a corset back (in hot pink to match my shoes...yay). My dad (and sister in law) is finally ordering his passport then they can book.

Next: FI clothes and wedding band.

FI's outfit is the worst! I've been on him like a month about it and he's like yaya I'll find something to wear. HA we'll see. Also, my sis (MOH) is looking for something to wear too. She's one of those "arg nothing looks good on me. Makes my butt look big..." it's endless.

Hey everyone! Just found this thread! Another 10/10/10 here. I finally booked a photographer and hair and makeup!!! Now comes all the details! I have a question for my fellow October brides....what time are you getting married? My fiance is very set on 'sunset' but I thought 6/6:30pm would be too late. Right now we're scheduled for 5pm. Does anyone know what I should expect? Thanks in advance! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
