Should I get the train of my dress cut??

Recommended Posts

Wow your dress is gorgeous! I wouldn't change a thing...but that me. My dress has only a slight train but yours is soo nice and flowy I think that would be perfect for the beach and like the other ladies mentioned you can bustle it as well! I don't know if I would feel right cutting it off sad.gif LOL Good Luck on your decision!

What are you leaning towards? I think if you like the train and don't want it because it's not "beachy" I'd say keep it...but if you're uncomfortable with the train in general, cut it off.

You're going to be the one wearing it and looking at pictures forever so make sure you're happy. I think it'll look great either way!

Your dress will look beautiful whatever you decide to do.

I'm in the same situation with my dress, and the seamstress recommended cutting off the heavier layer underneath, i don't know if yours has more than one layer of fabric, and leaving the thinner train. I haven't fully decided yet, but i think i'll probably end up chopping the whole thing.

I really liked the final results of Amy's dress above!

I have a long train also. I didnt see any detail with yours. So I would go ahead a maybe cut some off but not all of it. However with that being said I am keeping my train but only the overlay. Im cutting the thick fabric underneith and keeping the lace/beading for a train. It will make my dress that much more lighter :) Its your choice and what ever will make you feel best on your big day

Thank you ladies for your opinions and Amy for the pictures!! That gives me a better idea and now I don't feel so sad if I cut if off ... I think I'll try it on again with a seamstress to she can give me her opinion. The dress doesn't have any detail on the train, so it won't too bad if i remove a little.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
