Anyone had an authentic Mayan Ceremony.....?

Recommended Posts

I was just down at the Royal PDC and they did a Mayan Ceremony for us Travel Agents so we could see what it is like. In my opinion it was very unique, special and meaningful. All of the elements were acknowledged, sky, earth, water and it was very spiritual. For anyone looking for something a little different and very memorable, I highly recommend looking into the Mayan Ceremony!

Our guests were dumbfounded! The ceremony pics with the Mayan head dresses in the background are outstanding... we used them for the cover of our thank you cards!

They did a 15 minute introduction to our ceremony and led myself and sol down the isle...was pretty stunning!

We hired Yazmin de la Mora as our wedding planner and she did all the investigation for the Mayan crew that performed... You should give her a call and see what she recommends. She is Mexican and knows the local program very very well!

good luck planning!

I love this!!!

Hello ladies!

I love Mayan wedding ceremonies!  They are unique, spiritual, and so suited for this area.  I also really like the way everyone at the wedding is not just a spectator but a participant!

Here is Lori's recent shoot at a great little hotel in Tulum:

Happy planning and let us know how we can help!

Hello everyone!

I love to work with many different symbolic ceremonies but I believe is important to let you know the difference between them.

There are plenty of Cosmic ceremonies and spiritual ceremonies all of them are BEAUTIFUL and very emotive.....BUT please do not get confused.  The "traditional" Mayan Ceremony is not a show it is for real and a very ancient ceremony that has to be performed by a Mayan Shaman and there are only a few in the area ( I guess only two).

Shamans normally becomes shamans by legacy, inheritance, because their parents and grandparents so it is very important to have it in mind.

Here are some videos so you can have a better idea:

Happy Planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
