My name is Amanda recently engaged and trying to pick a location....

My first choice was the Majestic in Punta Cana but they seemed to be booked for 2010 : (

I have been reading mixed reviews about most hotels in Punta Cana. Can anyone please recommend on a hotel in Dominican. Dominican is not a set location.

Hi Amanda, Congrats and welcome. I'm sure there is lots of info about Dominican resorts for your wedding. Try going to the location specific section.

 

A few years ago I stayed at Iberostar Bavaro in Punta Cana. It was pretty nice and there was lots to do there. I did see one wedding on the beach but it was set up in a crowded area. Lots of other guests "attended" their ceremony! But the staff did a good job of keeping people away and not crossing the beach between the ceremony and the water (better for pictures)

 

Another wedding I saw there was just a bride and groom and two people with them. They had dinner in one of the nicer restaurants and I saw them later in the club.

 

So obviously they can accommodate anything. I would look around though at all your options. I would also suggest contacting a travel agent. I found my location in Mexico through him.

Congrats...and welcome to BDW! You will absolutely LOVE this site - there are so many great members and you'll get lots of tips on things you never even thought of. Sorry I can't recommed anywhere in the Dominican, but maybe you could look up reviews on TripAdvisor or something to get an idea of other's opinions (if you have a few hotels in mind).

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
