I was using another thread to talk about Blurb with other brides, but I thought I would post here so more could find and see. blurb.com

What I did:

I used a wrapped cover and put our monogram on it

On the left pages I put a quote of some kind in the upper left corner and then underneath lines for guests to sign

On the right pages I put a photo of PV on each page with a header "puerto Vallarta photos" I had to use Dreamstime.com website to purchase the PV photos (since I've never been there) but it was pretty inexpensive.

For those not familiar, this was my first time using Blurb and it came pretty much exactly what I expected. I think next time I would do a few things differently, like maybe add more pages, have a thicker book. I only had about 20 pages or less and the book is thin. You can download any photos you want (but make sure you have the legal rights to use it) and you can design anything!

We wanted more like a coffee table book with PV photos in it, but I liked this better because I was able to add personal touches with the quotes etc

"If your husband wants to go fishing, let him. It just means you have more time for shopping." and

"I love being married. It's so great to find that one person you want to annoy the rest of your life." and "a good marriage is at least 80 percent good luck in finding the right person at the right time. The rest is trust." quotes like that.

(that gives me an idea...I wonder if there is some sort of quote thread....?)

Anyways, here are pics - not sure how they will turn out

My colors are ivory/white/grey/silver sort of so the pages are sort of lavender grey which matches perfectly. It probably took my about 4 hours to make this but that included figuring out how to the buy the PV photos.

Congrats!
Yep, I remember you were interested in it. I forgot to post cost.
The book itself was somewhere around $31. It cost me about $15 to "buy" the photos and I think maybe $10 for shipping. I just love adding the quotes in it because I know people will read them and laugh.

Great idea, thanks for posting! I am planning to use our engagement pictures to make our guest book. the person who took our engagement pictures wanted to charge us $250 to make a guest book. I think $40 sounds like a winner smile36.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
