Hi Everyone!

My name is Amber. I'm from the Dallas Fort Worth Area.

I have no idea when my wedding will be yet - sometime in between May-July 2010.

I've been going crazy researching resorts - I hear this is the hardest part. I love this forum.

I'm debating between Cabo - because I abosultey adore Lovers Beach.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF YOU CAN GET MARRIED ON LOVERS BEACH?? I cant find the answer to this!

I also just attended my brother in laws wedding in Riviera Maya. It was at the Barcelo Maya Palace and it was absolutley beautiful!!! I highly recommend it to anyone. Great food, Great Drinks, Great Service, Great Resorrts, can accomodate large weddings (I think they had like 70 people).

My next choice is Cancun/Riviera Maya area because its easier for my guests to get to and has so many resorts to choose from.

My current obsession is the new Dreams Riviera Cancun....anyone have any info on this resorthuh.gif?

I'm trying to find a travel agent!

Okay so glad to be on here!!!!! :)

Amber

Welcome to the forum! I had the same question...Cabo or Cancun when I first started looking. I ended up going with Cancun because it was easier/cheaper for everyone to get to. I don't think you can go wrong with the Dreams resorts, there's a lot of good info on this forum about them. I chose Dreams Cancun because I fell in love with the gazebo. Good luck planning!

Congrats and welcome to the forum. I was married in Cabo, it's amazing there.

In regards to you "lovers beach" question, the problem with getting married there, is that the only way to access the location is by boat, and you have to jump off the boat, into the water in order to get the beach, plus there is no area to get ready. I think it would be an amazing location for a TTD shoot, but I think a little difficult for the actual wedding. Just my 2 cents. :-)

I had the same question. I chose Cancun because it was less expensive and more to do. I'm actually having my wedding at Moon Palace in Cancun but it's outside of Cacun, so kinda Riveria Maya, kinda Cancun. I think there's a thread about Dreams here. You might want to check that out.

Lol Thanks Everyone - you are all so sweet!

TammyB - you're right that would be a pain to get to the beach. I hear the beaches at Cabo are a bit rockier and not as nice? I was also concerned about being able to do water sports there - since the waves are rougher? It looks SO beautiful though.

so many decisions!!! and it looks like I need to make them quick if I intend on getting married next summer!!

Welcome! I think many of us had the same back and forth too!

We chose Mayan Riviera because it sounded like the swimming wasn't as good in Cabo as many of the hotels had swim advisories up.

We are getting married at the Azul Sensatori, but I have heard great things about Dreams! Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
