deli turkey + goat cheese + red peppers
can tunafish + mayonnaise (over greens or plain)

turkey mignons (from sams club.. basically a white meat turkey breast peace surrounded by bacon -- it looks like filet mignon) + string beans

The options are endless .. mix and match!
I just saved this list to my computer. I've done low carb diets before, but never where I actually had to be aware of how many servings of fat and protein I was having at once. My meals have been pretty lame, so thanks for the list, this gives me lots of great options! I also noticed that you have some proteins that aren't on the list, like roast beef, I mean it is a protein, but I was having a hard time seeing beyond the list, so this really helped!

I eat cottage cheese quite a bit and almonds. I just ate a grilled chicken salad with olive oil and vinegar for dinner, I'm still a little hungry, but it's almost shake time.

Good morning!

Wow, I just had time to read through most of the posts that I missed during my busy last week.

So I wanted to say that I too, Katie didn't lose weight on my 3rd week of the diet. Weird, but whatever. Didn't it feel great to finally have a cheat day? cheesy.gif

I forgot most of the other stuff I wanted to say...oopps! It's way early this morning!

Just popping in to say that my weigh-in on Sept 5/09 was the same as the week before...no loss. sad.gif I am going back to an all low-carb setup 6 days/week as it seems to be the only thing that works for me. That and I ended up having a cheat day on Sunday too since we were out of town and pretty much gave up. My weigh-in will probably suck again this week. Sigh!

I am having issues. On my low card days I am very tired. I know that sounds odd, but I was wonder if my body needs a little bit of cards. I have been on the low carb for a little of 3 weeks now and body is not likeing it. Being that I have been doing it for 3 weeks I don't think it is my in shock anymore. Before I started this the only carbs I really ate were 100% wheat bread and potatoes once or twice a week with my dinners. I was not able to give up fruit. I'm just not sure why I am so tired. I take a b-12 pill every morning and i take a vitamin on top of that, which is high in Iron.

when you are eating low carb and lots of protein you are likely getting tons of iron from your diet alone (meats and dark leafy greens have lots of it). you are actually supposed to be careful to AVOID vitamins that contain iron because of this. (i remember this from back when i did atkins). one of the first noticeable symptom of too much iron is fatigue, but there are complications that are more serious:

Thanks for that information. The only thing is I still have low Iron. I am no longer anemia which is great. When I went to Dr. last week she checked my Iron and its not as bad as it normaly is, so that a plus because I don't have to start Iron shots. That was my next step if I couldn't get my Iron up. I still do not eat Red meat which she kept telling me to do, because of the amount of Iron red meat has.

hmmm that's weird. but i forgot ... i think you mentioned in this thread before that you had low iron. you should definitely talk about the diet with your doc then. sounds like maybe your problem is with absorption and not intake, kwim? all this stuff is so complicated, and it's like you have to have just the right balance ... too little isn't good and too much can be just as bad or worse (and sometimes really dangerous)! my dad is having problems with too much potassium right now and is having to totally change his diet.

but anyway, eating low carb *should* result in *more* energy, not less. the carbs only give you a quick high and a crash. also the eating every 3 hours should be keeping your motor running, so to speak.

were you a big caffeine drinker before, and have you given it up? i gave up caffeine once before and in the beginning it was brutal but eventually i actually had more energy and was more alert without it.

best of luck getting this all sorted. and remember, not every diet is right for every body. it's worth giving it a fair shot, but if it's not right for you maybe another approach is better. smile03.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
