cheer2.gifWow thats awesome!!!!  So you are doing the 3 week induction part?  I have never done that - I always skip to the actual diet.  With your results, I might have to look into doing that though!!!!

yup, i am doing the induction.  this is my first time on this program, so i thought i would do it right, right from the start!

having such a strict plan for a while helps me get into the groove to stay on the program, but lordy i am looking forward to that cheat day!

i was up a pound this morning after yesterday's carbs - but i am not worried.  i know you aren't supposed to weigh yourself everyday, but i am a weigher.  i find it easier to stay on track when i see the scale and i know how i am doing!

Good for you Pam!

Totally agree!!!  I weigh myself (mostly) every day and write in on a small month-by-month calendar on my dresser.  I don't get mad when it goes up even 2 pounds in one day b/c I know how finicky my weight can be based on what I ate the day before.  If I was dieting and only weighted myself weekly and I gained 2 pounds, I would feel awful though!

my body is the same way...it totally reacts to the things i eat - so i have learned not to get too worked up about it!  it is the week to week weigh-ins that make the most difference!

i have just been looking at the meal plans...and i am a little confused.

the meal plans for Low GI include cereal and pasta, which i don't think we are supposed to have until the High GI days.  i thought that maybe they got switched, but the High GI meals include pasta too.

hmmmm.  way to tease a girl - pasta is a big trigger food for me!

I really dislike the receipes for that same reason.  However, he does say in the diet that you can have one service of the higher GI carbs on the Low GI days - like brown rice or whole what pasta.  My body reacts better to low carb, so I do not let myself have those items on Tues & Wed - only fruit & beans added for me!  Thurs/Fri I will eat starchy carbs, corn, & potatoes.

This morning I had an apple and peanut butter with a latte/milk.  Delish!  These low GI days are my fave!

Ahh, thanks Amy - I guess I didn't read close enough to know I could have one High GI food on a Low GI day.  I think I will stick to the Low list too.

I think I have become a little lax on portions the last couple of days and have been having more than my "palm" of meat/fish and more than "two thumbs" of nuts.  I best be careful!  But lord knows, I didn't get fat by eating too much salmon and almonds.  LOL!

Wow Pam, you're doing great!!  The diet isn't all that bad really.  I don't do the high GI days though, I just don't like them.

After 3 weeks, I am down 12.8 lbs and hubby is down 13!  It's such a great feeling! :D  I forgot how much I did enjoy eating this way and how good my body feels.  LOVE the cheat day.  Lately I found I've enjoyed it too much! lol  It takes me all week to lose the lbs I gained on the one day.  This cheat day, I won't pig out as much - I think! lol

Glad to see you around Amy!! smile03.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
