great Sylvie - make sure to keep us posted on how you're doing!

So it was my first day back on the diet after being off for months! I feel hungry right now but that's because I've been used to eating crap all day long! I actually do feel good and I know that this does work for me. It is a little bit more work with all the planning but I know that I can do this!!!

how was everyone else's day?

Hey girl, today was my 2nd day of no carbs and it was OK. Last week was my frist week back and it was HARD on the sunday & monday.

I had cucumber tomatoes and broccoli dipped in Hidden Valley low fat ranch which is amazing and helps me get over the Sun/Mon days. I also have been adding beets to my salads for a bit of a sweet taste that helps on low carb days. I try not to have too many b/c I think they are more like low GI, but a srpinkling on a salad wont ruin the day.

I am going to have sushi lunch tomorrow - miso soup and then seawedd salad and sashimi. So good for low GIs/low carbs.

You can totally do it Lisa - you know the first week is the hardest!!!

I love your siggy picture. Congratulations!

Today was day 3 for me and I find that I'm hungry every 3-4 hours so I do need to eat that often, I guess it's because I'm just not eating as much at every meal. I think I need to be more creative though. My biggest challenge is figuring out what to eat instead of fruit. I use to eat 3-4 pieces a day and I'm really missing it, veggies just aren't the same! Snacking on nuts has been my saving grace!

You can also try cheese and lunchmeat. Or tuna salad and carrot sticks or celery for a snack. I also like cottage cheese and fruit for a quick snack. For the low GI days I usually have salads with beans for lunch and some sort of bean side dish at dinner. You can also try chickpeas with chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, and a vinegrette dressing.

Thanks for the tips, I will definitely be considering some of those.

So...I've already encountered my first road bump in this journey! On Friday night I'm attending a pub crawl that I organized for my work (I'm on a social committee) so I don't see how I can get away with not drinking and having some munchies! I think I'm going to try and limit myself to one drink at each pub and maybe have some wings (would they be considered okay on this diet or are they too high in fat?). What do you guys think of my plan? Do you have any other ideas how I go about not totally spoiling the day?

Deb - I would def only have one drink. As for the wings, those are full of fat and deep fried! A fancy salad or fajitas would be better!

So far this week, things have been ok. Monday was great with no cheating. Yesterday, I had a few cookies that someone at work brought in and today, well there was cake! But I'm sticking to the rest of the diet, so technically I should still lose some weight. AHHHH I LOVE FOOD!!!!!!

Deb - on friday you will be on low fat/ high carb day - so its hard to do munchies at a pub. You could always make Friday your cheat day and then add an extra low carb or GI carb day in the middle of the week.

I find wine is OK on this diet but beer is not - makes me gain/not lose. I dont really drink liquor (unless they are shots bought by one of my naughty friends).

Lisa - your work is bad!!!! Maybe you guys all need to start a wellness initiative!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
