Back of my dress :) hope it fits in Dec!

So, I tried it on yesterday for the first time in a long time. I tried it on with my undergarments, accessories, the whole shebang!

I love it, it fits, it's comfortable, I love it. This is a Sottero and Midgley which I can't find on their website anymore (thinking its' discontinued) and it has a detachable train. The photo doesn't show the details with the applique lace and beading on the train and the back, but that train can be snapped off after the ceremony which is nice.

 

The problem is....look at the back! it's almost as tight as it will go! I bought this dress Nov 09 and I've lost about 26 lbs since - and plan on losing a little more. Since it was a tie up back I wasn't going to plan for those types of alterations, but I guess I might have to.

Or, if it doesn't fit, sell it? and buy a new one? I can sell it for cheap since it was a sample sale.

I think the dress looks fantastic. I know what you mean though, that was a struggle I was having when I ordered my dress too as I am losing weight. How much will it cost to get made smaller?

Congrats on the weight loss! Personally, I prefer when the corset is tighter (like yours is) b/c I think it gives the impression that you are skinnier. When I see them dragged all the way across the back, it just seems like the dress is too small which means the bride is too large! So I prefer the look that you have going on. But i know that other brides really like the corset to show across the back. So I guess what it comes down to is, what is your personal preference on how it looks??

That dress looks beautiful on you! And congrats onthe weight loss!

 

This isn't meant to be discouraging, but don't be surprised if it becomes tougher to lose weight as your wedding approaches. All sensible eating went out the door for me because I was so focused on getting everything ready. Also, in a tropical climate, you won't want your dress to be super tight. I had my MOH loosen mine twice throughout the night because it felt like the dress was shrinking on me. Just a few things to think about.

Kristy, I totally know what you mean! I figure with all the bridal showers and bachelorette parties (not just my own...) it will be hard to lose much more weight. I def agree. And that is a good point, with the humidity, it will be nice to have it a little loose. When I tried it on yesterday, I was already getting a pretty hot underneath and this is the CA coast and it's only 70.

I figure worse comes to worse, I have to pay someone to hem the dress so if I have to have them take it in, it would be less of a hastle to do that than trying to sell and buy something new.
