Gift giving question...

Recommended Posts

A co-worker asked me this morning about gift-giving, and I don't really know the answer! I told her I'd ask the experts... so experts - here we go! rolleyes.gif

She is attending a wedding at the end of this month. It is a small, intimate beach wedding in Connecticut, with family only, with the exception of my co-worker and her husband. There will be a big reception in August with hundreds of people. So, the question is - when should she bring her gift? To the actual wedding ceremony; or wait until the reception in Augusthuh.gif

I agree...I would just have it shipped directly to them. Personally, I'd try to have it there around the time of their first ceremony just so it doesn't seem like an after thought.

But if she prefers to take it in person, then definitely the smaller event. . .if only for the fact that at the larger event there will likely be a LOT more gifts that need to be transported so why add to that if you can give it to her earlier? You know?

i heard that it's actually considered rude these days to bring the gift to the wedding - then the bride and groom have to worry about dealing with all of the gifts, and who wants to do that on their wedding day! (i realize you appoint people, but still ... ). i never bring the gift - i always have it shipped, it so much easier for everyone!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
