Royal Lady10,

We are getting married at BRB next March. I would love to hear your review or comments. I know it is a smaller resort, which we kind of wanted. The only thing I am a bit concerned about still is the actual resort's age. I know it had some renovations, but still nervous about it. I am a nervous nelly! :-) Hopefully you take pics while you are there, we are planning on getting married on the beach. Can't wait to hear back from ya! Have a great time!

Don't worry about the age of the hotel. All of the common areas are updated and very nice. There are some older rooms, but most of those have been updated too. You will have a great time, and there's nothing to worry about!

Hey guys! I actually went to a wedding their last year, its actually where I met my FI so it holds a special place in my heart :) It was a great place for a wedding and the resort was nice. I went with my best friend and we didnt have a problem with any part of the resort. If you have questions you can ask or PM me.

I was married there on July 18th, 2009. The resort is beautiful and the wedding was all that I wanted. I will say that the wedding coordinator isn't very friendly and will rush you through the meeting you have with her prior to the wedding date. I had read that people in Jamaica are layed back and relaxed but they don't realize how much of a big deal this is to us (brides). The wedding was just my husband and myself, it was perfect for us. We paid the extra $60.00 for the marriage license to be expedited to us within 6-8 weeks... We are still waiting and it's going on 8 weeks. I have emailed Keisha (wedding coordiator at the resort) and still waiting to hear from her although she promptly responded to me prior to the wedding. Good luck to you all marrying in BRB. I really did love the resort and most of the people who worked at the resort... just wish we had our marriage license.

Thanks for sharing...I am getting married there soon myself and there is not alot of info about Breezes on this forum. I have emailed Keisha several times and called down there once but still have not received any response from her.

Did you see any other weddings while you were there? I have approx 20 people coming down and trying to decide if I want to do a private reception or not. Did you get married in the beach wedding chapel? Keep us up to date on the status of your license. And how did you like your flowers?

Thanks for any info you can pass along!

We've booked BRB for our wedding in February. I haven't tried contacting Keisha yet since I know I probably won't get a response. I'm not too worried about things yet but I do have some questions. Ok, maybe I mean a lot. Sorry. ANY answers would be greatly appreciated!

Did anybody who got married there write their own script? Is that allowed?

Can you have a reception in one of the restaurants and what if you have off-property guests? Do you have to pay extra for them to eat dinner too (aside from the day pass)?

Can you even have a reception in a restaurant if you have off-property guests or are you required to do a private reception?

Do the guest day passes expire before midnight that night? How long can they stay?

Did anybody do a private reception? What was the approximate cost?

Is there late night entertainment that we could all go to after dinner? i.e music, dancing?

I made our wedding reservation online and booked the beach but can we change our minds when we get down there? Do they have multiple weddings going on at one time that would keep us from doing that?

Did you get your hair done there? Can you recommend the salon/spa or should I be prepared to do it myself?

Where would the wedding take place if it rained?

Did anybody not get a marriage license and just do a symbolic ceremony?

AHHHH!! I'm getting so excited!! I'm not stressing out about all this stuff, I don't NEED answers -- especially since we have a few months to go. I'm just curious about these things and was hoping to hear from past BRB brides. Thanks a bunch guys!!

FLASONG - Hi. I am still waiting on my license. After many emails to Sandra and Keshia, I am still waiting. It's a bit frustrating. Had I thought about it at the time, I would have considered using a day to travel to Kingston to see if I could file it myself but didn't think about that until now. My flowers turned out really pretty and I was very happy with them. I saw several weddings the day I got married, there was 8 that same day as mine. I was told normally they have 2-4 weddings a day, during the summer I assume. I noticed several larger weddings and they all turned out really nice. I got married at the Chapel on the beach. You will have a little more privacy there than on the beach. Although, people at the terrace seem to be right there close. My hair/makeup I had done there at the Salon and I was very happy with them. Request Crazy J as the photographer, he is wonderful. If you get him, tell him that Tina Merlo said hi. He will make your day a little less stressful. If you have any other questions, you are more than welcome to private email me, my email address is tina.merlo@yahoo.com.

Good luck and I wish you all the best.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
