Catholic ceremony in Riviera Maya...

Recommended Posts

Have you looked into The Royal in Cancun? When I saw you wanted a Catholic Wedding it immediately came to mind. The location is in the “Our Lady of Guadalupe”, Catholic Oceanfront Chapel (surrounded by light and glass with marble floors). Go to the link below and checkout the picture, it's at the end of the 2nd row of pics. Absolutely breathtaking view.

I just have to chime in! The church at the Royal is amazingly beautiful! I'm looking at getting married there in July of 2010. Everyone I show the pictures can't believe there is a glass church on the water.

Also, the wedding packages as far as ceremony and reception are concerned are VERY reasonable as far as cost it concerned.

Hi all. I am also planning a Catholic ceremony in Riviera Maya or Cancun at an all inclusive in Sept/Oct of 2010 that is not an adults-only resort. The Xcaret does look beautiful, but might not work for me since I am planning a Saturday wedding and for Fri, Sat, Sun they require to also have the reception there and they require a $5,000 deposit, which seems hefty to me....Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • 1 month later...

Just got back from my site visit and while I was there I visited the church in Puerto Morelos. Its called Iglesia de San Jose (San Jose Church). It is a small authentic church in the town square across from the ocean. The view to the ocean is blocked by trees, but you can hear the waves and smell the ocean :) I thought it was absolutely beautiful and the Padre Mario couldn't have been nicer.

So now I can put my mind at ease and concentrate on the rest of the planning.

Btw... they are in process of building another church in Puerto Morelos, which will be called Iglesia de la Virgen de Guadalupe (should be done by January)... also looks very nice :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
