Catholic ceremony in Riviera Maya...

Recommended Posts

Ohhh no prob. At first thats what I wanted... a resort with a chapel, but after months of research... I couldn't find anything that could accomodate all of our needs. For instance, El Dorado Royale is really nice, but its Adults-only. I'm having a large amount of guests coming that will be bringing their children to make a family vacation out of it.

Have you looked into any others? I don't know if this fits your needs, but Dreams Tulum has a beautiful small chapel on their grounds. I went there last yr for a friends wedding and the place looked beautiful... very hacienda style. The food was not that great, but theres always going to be something sad.gif

Have you looked into any local churches?

Mely

Im getting married this December in the Riviera Maya, and we are going to have our catholic ceremony at the Xcaret chapel. I saw another post of yours about transporting guests from the hotel to the chapel and I am working those details out right now! I will be sure to let you know who we go with and how it works out.

Thanks Ashley! That would be great! Xcaret chapel is in Playa de Carmen?? How did you contact the priest/church there?

Keep me posted with the transportation arrangements wink.gif

Sorry, been MIA for a while. Yea, Xcaret is gorgeous. To have a reception there can cost some serious cash but we are just having our ceremony there. All of my guests will be staying at the same hotel (I didn't really give an option-on my wedding website I just put the hotel info and the cost per person). The people at Xcaret just gave me Father Bernard Quinn's contact info and I emailed him, and my mother called him...he is really slow in responding to emails but my mom was able to get a hold of him over the phone right away. I am have a REALLY hard time trying to coordinate the church's availability with the Priests availability. I wanted to contact a different priest but they said Father Bernard Quinn was the only info they had for an English speaking priest, but I read on here that there is another one. Just not sure if they all perform ceremonies at any church.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
