Puerto Vallarta has a lot of beautiful places to get married! Try to remember that this is your wedding. If you and your FI have your hearts set on a PV wedding then that is what you should do!

My mom too was a bit hesitant on the DW wedding idea and was not too happy about it but now that our wedding is over she is asking when we can go back to do it all again because everyone had some much FUN! having a DW is truly a once in a lifetime expericence!

Good luck!

Welcome! I had a similar experience...my family thought I was crazy for wanting to get married in Mexico....it took a couple months but they did finally come around, and are now VERY excited about it. Good luck - I think most of us on the forum had issues with family at the beginning

Actually we picked the Riviera Maya because most of our guests were coming from the east, and we found a resort we really like.

Ultimately, this wedding is for you, so you have to do what makes you (as a couple) happy! I hope your mom comes around quickly, PV is beautiful!

Congrats! I completely understand what you're going through. We've always known we've wanted a DW and my FI family is all in. However, mine on the other hand are a bit harder to crack. In fact we're still working on it. My sister and BIL and parents are all trying to convince us to have the wedding at home or somewhere on the east coast if we want it on the beach. You just have to remind them that this is your wedding and why you want to do this and that you really hope they will be there to support you and celebrate your dream with you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
