We have decided not to have the open bar since we were told they will serve domestic wine and beer just not other mixed drinks. If there are guests that want something else I think we will send someone out to the bar and get a few to bring back. The costs certainly add up and considering the packages aren't that cheap you think they could come up with one that covers everything.
What Date is your ceremony - we might be there on the same week? Ours is on the 22nd. The WC also offered me a four drink slection that is available to add to the drinks included in the pakcage. The drink package consists of mojitos, pina colada, margarita and san francisco. She said if we would like to add these drinks to the menu it would cost and additional $5.50 per person USD...thought i would let you know...

Thought the open bar was pretty pricey considering you are at an all inclusive resort. I asked what liquor would be available at the private reception if we did not do open bar and at first we were told only domestic wines and then when I asked again now they are saying also domestic beer.
When did you book your private reception. I am wondering if we are a little late since our date is earlier than yours.
We just booked our private reception on Monday. I'm not sure how many weddings they are averaging per day at this resort but you might want to ask if the locations that you prefer are still available - you can always change other things later, just make sure you get the location! The private reception includes domestic wine and beer as well as pop and juice. The WC offered me an additional drink selection consisting of mojitos, pina coladas, margaritas and san franciscos for $5.5 per person. I thought it was a good price. We also do not have to pay the extra per person with the Unforgettable package and the private reception - which i just found out the other day. its good to know because this will save us at least $500.00USD! We would like to have our reception extended until 12:00 which is available if you purchase an Open Bar from 10:30 - 12:00 at $24 per person. I didnt want it all to be over at 10:30 although we could move it to another bar on the property - havent decided on that yet. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I received two gazebo pictures from the WC - Gazebo 1 is the huge white gazebo located in the garden. Its amazing! Gazebo 2 was a metal type gazebo with a straw roof located in and amongst some buildings. It was cute - but not elegant like Gazebo 1. I believe these are the only 2 gazebo's on site. I can provide pictures if you send me your email address.

Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
