Needless to say, I was infuriated, since although the combos are nice, they aren't what I was picturing for my wedding. Thankfully, I had saved email coorespondence from June that I forwarded her where I had requested specific flowers and told her that while I understand there is a transition, that I had booked my wedding prior to that transition and I fully expect to have my pink and orange roses! (Bridezilla moment) Her response was that they would see what the other Martha Stewart options are and then if my boquet isn't included we would "talk with her director".

Tell me about it!

I just spoke to Amber in Miami, and she says that they are still putting things together but that she hears that everything is quite beautiful etc. I get that and I love what Martha does most of the time, but in this case, where Martha is quite serene with tiffany colors, and chic greens and romantic pinks, I want a fiery and color splashed theme with burnt orange, and reds and muted yellows for my wedding!!!!!! So as you can imagine, I am not at all pleased. She says she will see them herself soon, check up on the details, , let me know asap if I can incorporate those colors and elements from before, and how much it would cost.

Sigh.... and my wedding is to be one of the first for the new year. I wonder if I will have any hair left by then..........?

  • 2 weeks later...

I agree with what some of the other brides have already posted. While the packages are beautiful, none of them fit my colors or what I was looking for. I think I'd even be ok with the basic "beautiful beginnings" package if I could get the orchids in fuschia instead of magenta; and I could just add some splashes of orange myself. I'm definitely not going to stress about this yet....but will definitely be waiting to hear back from other brides with earlier wedding dates and how their planning went with the new options.

There are no a la carte items! Atleast that is what my WC told me. You MUST BUY a package to get decorations!

And Im a little miffed by this I booked my wedding 9 months ago when MS packages were not around and you didnt have to purchase a PB package. And now Im being told that to have decorations you must purchase a package!

Hi everyone! I spoke to Amber about a week ago about these different packages. If I prepay my flowers before Nov 30th I can have other options beside the Martha Stewart. I like the MS but feel a little pushed into it and the one I like is crazy expensive. She did say there will be extra al la carte items and she will know after Dec. MS collections are copyrighted so nothing can be changed or added except MS items. She did say since we were having the 2 hr rec. and adding an hr it would be a better deal to get the 3hr they will comp me $15 from the free reception(10 or more rooms booked) and the total cost would be $60. Cheaper then doing the 2hr and adding an hr. Now I was told I could have a soloist steel drum player for $300(1hr) and that is not an option now has to be the band for $600. I know it's going to be beuatiful but all these unknowns are making me craaazy!!

They are finishing up with the new Signature packages-should be coming out within the next few weeks or so!

There will also be a flower catelogue that should be out soon- it is only the Martha Stewrat "packages" that can not be altered or mixed.

Even without the package you would still be able to get the entertainer though!

I still want my single entertainer for one hour, is it still possible?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
