Did anyone exchange rings during their legal ceremont at home BEFORE the actual wedding?

We did not. We wanted to keep that for our wedding. But we really tried to downplay as much as possible for the legal, so it would not possibly feel like our wedding. So it is up to you.

We exchanged rings. And then we took them off the next morning and had a laugh. "Nice to be married to you." We'll try this again in 4 months.

Ha! We did the "paperwork" as we call it, on 06.07.13. which was a possible candidate for our wedding day in Jamaica. It got second palce. :)

we didn't exchange rings either for our legal day. I didn't really want any sort of vows, but the JP insisted on the basic vows, so we went with it. cheesy "kiss your bride" and everything. and then we walked out and went to work. how's that for down playing the legal day??

I don't think we will be exchanging rings either. I don't want it to feel like my wedding. Thanks ladies =]

We are doing the legal paperwork afterward so we don't have to screw with worrying about changing passport and other identification til afterward. There's enough other stuff to worry about beforehand planning the trip and wedding details

We purchased our license yesterday!  Our ceremony will be at the court house on September 30th (my dads 60th birthday, if he was still here) :(

We are exchanging rings then doing the same thing you did lol

Our Marriage certificate will not be mailed to us in time for when we "renew our vows" in Jamaica, so Vinnette said she would accept a Temporary marriage cerfificate.  Phew!  I was worried, but becasue we are only renewing the vows it's not as big of a deal.

We don't want to waiste time on vacation dealing with lawyers and paper work, so were gonna do it all here first.

We plan to do the legal part at home first too. For ease in the future. I don't want it to detract at all from our DW because that is what it is all about. However, knowing my family it will be very difficult to keep this secret.

I don't want the legal part to feel "special" at all. No ring exchange and no personal vows. BUT being the girly girl that I am, I have to wonder, did anyone wear anything special? I can tell you what I was wearing the day I met my FI, I can tell you what I was wearing the day he proposed. I can't help but think I might want to have something a "little special" on when we officially get married. What does/did everyone else do?

I'm surprising my FI with a tour of Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. He is a huge fan. At the end of the tour we will be doing a small 5-10 legal ceremony with 2 witnesses..so there will be 5 of us total. It will only cost about $150, which is the cost of the tour itself. This will also be my wedding gift to my FI. We had discussed just doing the legal ceremony at our house a couple days before we leave for the Bahama's, but I wanted to take a step further and make it special for him.

I'm highly considering doing the same for our Cancun wedding tba. What is everyone doing as far as their wedding "date"? Are you considering your anniversary the day of the legal/courthouse ceremony date or the symbolic date in Mexico? Hehe- I'm a bit OCD and it's driving me crazy to decided which date to choose and accepting it's just easier to do the legal at home in FL before Mexico.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
