1. What Abbie mentioned. Any chocolate dessert I have had in Jamaica has not really tasted as good or as chocolatey as what I am used to. You may need to bring your chef boxes of Betty Crocker mix.
2. How will you keep the ice cream cold while guests are lining up to make their sundae? I would just make sure your venue has something suitable for this.
This thread did make me want a brownie sundae though!
Maureen - I agree about bringing my own brownie mix. I think I will definitely do that! (Although, I really wish I could get my favorite brownie's from a restaurant in Houston delivered to Jamaica!) Also, I thought about the whole keeping the ice cream cold thing. I'm thinking dry ice (which would make a very cool visual effect) under the ice cream buckets. Or I thought about getting some of those big silver ice-cream-maker-bowl-thingies (yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the technical term) that have dry ice in the inside insulation part and then the ice cream in the bowl part.

And my resort is very accommodating! My fiance has a very odd request (I'm sure I'll post a thread about it eventually) to make a platform that extends into the water for the ceremony and the resort said they would build it or find someone to build it for us. So I'm hoping they can/will find a way to make this work too!

Anyone in Austin, TX who feels like going out for a brownie sundae sometime soon? I'm seriously fiending for one now!

I love homemade cake but am not a huge fan of wedding/bakery cakes...so the cake was not really a big deal to me. We just got the free one that came with our package. I say you should do whatever you want...traditional...nontraditional whatever! It's your day...do what makes you happy...someone is always going to have something to say so do what you and FI want and don't worry about it

FI like you doesn't like cake at all..(his mom still buys him one every year)..lol..so our WC in Vegas is having the baker do a tiered cheesecake for us!!! We will have strawberry (his fave), plain & chocolate for me!!!

Our AHR will have the tiered cupcakes!!!

Wow well..

i like this brownie sundae idea as well as all the other suggestions. I was thinking of having a wedding cake however now i am not sure:) I have not actually attended that many weddings so i am no expert on wedding cake!

i am also starting toward the little cupcake idea and the flavors suggested Marie sam sounded delicious! so many choices so little time...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
