Moon Palace - Cancun Review - July 11, 2009

Recommended Posts

Tina, what a great review! I really need to get on writing mine - I just feel like maybe I should wait until I have more pictures! Maybe I can write it an add them later!

You look absolutely gorgeous and like you had a fabulous time! I'm so happy for you - you deserved an incredible wedding!

By the way, I swear I walked right by you one night. I almost asked if it was you, but I am too shy like that! Matt and I were walking back to our building through the Nizuc courtyard area where the golf cart pick up was (next to the back lobby entrance by the salon) and I saw a tall red haired woman with a Texas accent taking a picture of someone with a golf cart driver...and I turned to Matt and I was like, I wonder if that's Tina?! LOL!

Hey Nina, Our time was great!! Ha, It could of been me!! I took several of those photos.

We actually was thinking about you the last day we were there and looking back, I wish we had of met in person. Kelena said she could of found you. We had an extra bottle of champagne, wine and several other things I bagged up to try and get to you but we ran out of time.

I can't wait to see your pictures and review. We are still trying to get our photos rounded up.

BTW, if you're on Facebook, pm me your personal email. I would love to see what is posted on your FB. We have tons of photos on ours.

The mariachi band worked for Moon Palace. They did an outstanding job. The mariachi music for our wedding was one of my favorite things. DH said from the very beginning that was what he wanted and what a great choice it was. We didn't have to do anything because they have it down.

Our sand ceremony was very special. First and foremost, it did include my sons but it also included our guests. Each guest added a seashell when they arrived to the gazeba and we left the rest a surprise. It truly was the blending of everyone.

These were our words:

TINA and BENNIE -Before you met, your lives were on separate roads…. Each going in different directions and leading to different destinations. Somehow along the way you met, fell in love, and today you find yourselves standing together at the entrance of a new path that will forever join your once separate journeys into one.

Before each of you, there is a container of sand. Your individual sand represents the separate journeys you once were on. They also represent your own sets of friends and families that were once apart and will now be joined. As you pour your individual sand, it represents the coming together of your friends and family through your marriage, into one.

(PAUSE until sand is being poured)

Christian and Carson, please join us. (PAUSE)

Just as we have now bound TINA and BENNIE to one another, we will now celebrate the unification of CHRISTIAN and CARSON into this family. TINA and BENNIE has poured their sands into the vase, showing that their marriage is the foundation of this family.

As CHRISTIAN and CARSON now add their sands (Boys pour sand), we are reminded that though we are all different people, it is our individuality that adds to the tapestry of the family. Like the sands poured before , so these sands will also mix and be unable to be separated.

TINA and BENNIE, As the sand has blended together, your lives are now joined…. Your separate journeys through life are now one. Your friends and family are as one . For now, you will share those who are in your lives and will walk hand in hand along the path of your marriage – United and Strong as husband and wife, as inseparable as these grains of sand.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
