Need reassurance for just bride/groom wedding

Recommended Posts

I struggled with this forever and initally wanted it to be just me, fi, and our immediate families....because I KNEW that if I invited 1 close friend, I'd have to invite them all...in the end we invited everyone, but my parents are paying and that is why! I couldnt have afforded to do it myself and I think your idea of you and fi in Maui and an AHR is a beautiful idea. You could also have a symbolic ceremony in Maui and go to JOP with your family so they could witness the legal part? just a thought wink.gif best wishes! I've found that if you stick to your gut you're usually the happiest!

my situation is exactly the same.luckily enough neither of our families could afford it so it was,nt an option.however our best 2 friends are coming with us.i did want our own witnesses.don,t ask why one of those things that you worry about.i don,t want strangers on our photos crazy i know.and i wanted to do the night before apart thing and have someone to get ready with.but since we booked it and agreed on there being only us everytime we go out my fi has a few drinks and invites everyone saying more the merrier.but i put my foot down a little and said im really sorry but if our families can not come then i don,t want anyone else to come.

we are having an ahr 2 weeks after we come back and we are making a big deal with that to our families so they feel involved.

if you don,t want an ahr just arrange a family meal?try not to worry you need to do what you and your fi want.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
