Dreams Cabo**i NEED help with pricing/menu

Recommended Posts

hi ladies! :)))

so i am very new at this so sorry if there are any *dumb* or repeated questions! i recently got engaged on 4th of july in cozumel :)) .. we are thinking june 2010 at dreams cabo. we are paying for everything ourselves, so we don't have as big of a budget as a lot of you beautiful fortunate girls!

*we are thinking about doing the ultimate pkg, and paying for each additional person that covers food/cocktail/drinks... ($70 pp right??)

*how much extra per person for cake/wine? (pkg includes cake/wine for 20)

*how long does the live mexican musical trio play for, the whole night or just ceremony/cocktail party?

*how much is it to rent speakers/mic for ipod for the whole night?

*i also want to know if i could trade hair/makeup/photography/cake in towards the additional people i have to pay for, or towards additional flowers (BM bouquets/GM bout.), or towards speakers/mic rental for the night??

*what types of flowers can we choose from in the package?!

*can i bring my own bows/sash for chairs, runners for the table, votives,etc...and if so, do they charge to set it up? or can i have a friend/fam member set it up for me?

LAST QUESTION...

*does anyone have a menu for cocktail options/reception dinner options??

this site is amazing, everybody is so helpful! :) i hope i can get some of my questions answered soon so i can make the big decision!!!! ANY help/advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!! xoxo

$70 pp exta for the lobster dinner, $58 for a fish or meat dinner

*how much extra per person for cake/wine? (pkg includes cake/wine for 20)

Included in the above price, no additional.

*how long does the live mexican musical trio play for, the whole night or just ceremony/cocktail party?

1 hour

*how much is it to rent speakers/mic for ipod for the whole night?

I think $300, not sure how much it is to change locations (ie ceremony site to reception site)

*i also want to know if i could trade hair/makeup/photography/cake in towards the additional people i have to pay for, or towards additional flowers (BM bouquets/GM bout.), or towards speakers/mic rental for the night??

I was able to trade make up application for pedi, but it was also in the spa, so not sure about other stuff

*what types of flowers can we choose from in the package?!

Not sure

*can i bring my own bows/sash for chairs, runners for the table, votives,etc...and if so, do they charge to set it up? or can i have a friend/fam member set it up for me?

Set up fee is the same price as renting $2 per chair.

LAST QUESTION...

It is on my other comp, and I will attach later , but you will have to reach member status to open it.

I was quoted $250 for the system and $50 to move it from ceremony site to reception. Mic might be extra?

Okay I feel like I am a PRO at this since I am getting married at Dreams on August 8, in just 2 weeks! I too did the Ultimate package, and yes every additional person is $70 when you go over 20 people. As far As I know that includes everything from the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The trio only plays for an hour, for the ceremony and cocktail hour. I'm not sure about renting the speakers since we are doing a DJ. I doubt that they will let you trade all that to go towards extra people. Some things they have let me trade and others they have not. I didn't like the bridal bouquet that the package came with so Yesica said that I could use the bridal bouquet to go towards a bridesmaid bouquet for the wedding, so it is just one less bouquet that I have to pay for. As far as the hair and make up, since I am hiring someone else to come do it, they are letting me trade for a Mani/Pedi at the spa. I too am bringing my own table decor, except for I am renting the hurricanes through dreams for the tables, I also am doing bows for the chair, it's only $2 a chair.

As soon as you secure a date with dreams and get a wedding coordinator, they will send you pics of what your package includes. Hope this helps :)

I know it seems so over whelming in the begining not knowing how everything works, but it all works out :)

I have secured a date at Dreams and have a wedding coordinator but still no pics of what my package includes( I got the ultimate package too). I've asked for these things but I don't want to keep hasseling the WC with the same questions. I know they are busy but it just gets frustrating when you have to wait weeks for a response and when I do get one, it doesn't usually answer all my questions. Oh well I guess I will just have to be more patient. I just really want to know what flowers we can choose from.

C1 Smith-thanks for all that awesome info :)

Erika J,

*you said its $58 for meat/fish menu..can i do that if i get the ultimate pkg? or is that for the love pkg? if i can do it with ultimate pkg, do you know if they would apply $12 difference that is included in pkg towards additional ppl?

*also, you said they wont charge me extra for cake/wine, but i will prob have 35-50 ppl..no extra charge?!

*does the dreams of love pkg include the ceremony tbl and chairs setup, or is it just the ultimate pkg that include that? or do you have to pay so much to rent each chair, etc?

*do you know what locations are included for ceremony for the free pkg?

any info you have is much appreciated! thanks girl~

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
