Gift Giving Traditions - Posted on Friend's Website

I have one thing to say about this:

HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT MY WEBSITE AND MY GIFT GIVING REGULATIONS WHEN I'M RIGHT HERE! THEY ARE JUST STRICT RULES ABOUT HOW YOU SHOULD TREAT ME THAT EVERYONE MUST ABIDE BY! JUST TRYING TO MAKE THINGS EASIER!

haha, just joking. it's not really my website.

but I DO have one thing to say about this, which is:

what gets into people?

"*If you receive an invitation, even if you can't attend the wedding, it is expected you will send a gift."

This sounds exactly like my friend who is getting married in December, in fact, the whole list does! She is totally the same way, practically demanding gifts from everyone she knows. May I add she bought me a set of 4 napkins (on sale for $1.50 each) for my wedding gift. I know it's the thought that counts, but this is kind of unfair when she pretty much told me she's expecting a $350 bed comforter from me.

Some people are just absolutely disgusting when it comes to gift greediness.

I can't believe someone would have the nerve to post something like this on their website!!! It is so unbelievably rude & tacky!!!

If I were invited to a wedding and couldn't attend, I would send a gift if it was someone I was close to. But if it were someone I didn't even talk to or like anymore, I wouldn't send anything, especially if I felt I was only invited to get a gift.

She's got some nerve!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
