Agreed, it is stressful to wait till the last minute to see what kind of work they do in person but I am trying to remain optimistic.

Good luck!

hmmm, this is quite confusing. Have you sent him payment? Do you have a contract from Fernando? What time is your wedding that day?

I have an email from him saying he is available my date, that is stressing me out.

Hi Diana - your make-up looks beautiful and so do you!

Do you have the contact info for Norma at MAC? I am getting married at El Dorado Maroma and they charge $500 for an outside vendor, which I really don't want to pay. Did your hotel at Playa del Carmen charge that or were you able to get around it?

Thanks!

Karla

Has anyone ever heard of Adrian from Studio H Playa?

Bienvenidos Studioh

I found him online and he's been great with emailing me back so far. He's sent me picture of his work. He works with another hair+makeup artist and an assistant. His prices are very competitive!

I was thinking about hiring Fernando but I'm kinda scared how seeing how he seems to double-book some days... Plus, I think he's a bit expensive!

Hi ladies! I have been talking to Fernando and he has been great to work with so far. I'm debating on whether or not I want to book him for a trial as well as the day of. I know I would have peace of mind if I ran a trial, but I've always been pretty happy with my hair/makeup when I've had it done and I know he does good work. Plus, my sister (MOH) is a hair stylist. Anyone who has worked with Fernando have advice? Was the trial worth the extra $?

Best of luck! I still haven't decided on who to book yet!

Interestingly enough, not sure if its just because you obtained the quote months ago, but here is what I got:

BRIDE TRIAL HAIR AND MAKEUP $180
DAY OF THE EVENT $350

BRIDESMAIDS AND FAM
ONLY MAKEUP $90
ONLY HAIR $50 up to $80

Guess he is getting more expensive - should have asked for a quote then!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
