Hair and make-up artist??

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I am getting married at Azul Beach Hotel on 5-28-11 at 4 p.m. and wanted to book Fernando but the latest he is available is at 12 p.m.  Do you think this is too early to get my makeup done?  I wanted to get makeup done as late as possible so its fresh but I have heard so many good things about Fernando.  Also, his partner Julius from The Makeup Pros is available but i have not heard any reviews on Julius.  Have any of you heard of him or has anyone used him?

I am also looking into Norma from MAC but can't decide who is going to do the best makeup? Has anyone used Norma? If yes, what did you think of her?

I have to make a decision soon....Fernando at 12 p.m., Julius or Norma?

Please help and send photos if you have!  THANKS!!!

Hi Melissa,

I was wondering who you ended up going with? Your makeup/hair looked great! I'm trying to decide right now between Fernando and MVP....

Thanks :)

My sister is a master hair stylist and has been doing my hair my entire life, so naturally I want her to do my wedding hair. I'm not sure if she would even charge me, but if she does, her normal prices are WAY lower than what I've seen on this thread and I know for a fact I'll be 100% happy.

I also think my sister or another stylist guest I have coming could do a great job on makeup (even though that's not their specialty). Have any other brides brought their own make-up artist or done their own, i.e. - NOT used someone from Mexico? My only concern is that the climate/weather will be too different and the products/application techniques we're used to back here in the states won't work well down there. Any thoughts or suggestions on this??

I initially was going to bring my make-up artist from home.  However with the cost of flying her in, & paying for her stay Solely for make-up that disappeared.  Then I thought, I would just pay her to show one of my bridesmaids but then weighed in the climate, weather.  So with that side, I booked Norma Perez from MAC in Mexico.

It is way cheaper than the above, she's worked with my photog before and she uses the products I love along with having great reviews on all skin types.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
