Wedding dress mission in LA - help!

Recommended Posts

Ibex International is definitely a great place to go -- they actually have tons of Maggie's to try on. I did this with my own dress because I could not find it anywhere else -- tried it on, loved it, then ordered from another store that price matched the price I found on line -- that store is House of Brides in Torrance. The owner, Maggie, is wonderful and has tons of dresses in her store also can order just about anything you see online!! She is really sweet and will price match anything and really give you the best price.

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions! I went dress shopping on my own for the first time this Sunday and was there for 2 hours! In the blink of an eye too... I found a dress, outside of my price range which was totally my nightmare. Ugh! It's so uniqute and gorgeous and not at all the style I was going after.

I don't know how to post photos... but I'll try

In Ivory... they put the birdcage veil on me which I intend to wear and it just looked amazing. It's the most unique dress I've tried on and I wanted a vintage modern look which this completely achieved! It's a 20's/30's art deco look that I love. My FI was going to wear a vest with a white button down shirt, sleeves rolled up and a loose tie. We just wanted that vintage look we love.

What do you think, my mom says it's inappropriate for the beach but we're not getting married on the sand, we're getting married on a sky deck.

Please give me your honest opinions, I'm supposed to meet the designer this Sunday and try it on for him!

Thanks!

Amy

Those are the LA locations for Maggie dresses! If you go to maggiesottero.com and go to store locator just click california and it will list every store they are sold at! Hope that helps!

Although I didn't get a Maggie dress, I did buy mine at Wilshire Bridal. They don't have a huge selection to choose from, but I did like the dresses they did carry.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
