August 2010 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Hello August 2010 brides! I am not sure if there are too many of us yet, or maybe I am the only one, but I thought I'd start a page just for us! So far, I am planning on the first week of August in Riviera Maya. Our top choice so far is the Dreams Puerto Aventura.

Let's use this page to share ideas and keep a timeline going of all the planning!

Enjoy!

Hello!

I started a thread a couple days ago.. but no one responded So I guess I'll join you! I'm getting married August 7th, 2010

So far I've:

1. sent STD's (1 year ago!)

2. blocked hotel rooms

3. deposit down for wedding planner

4. deposit down for TTD session (day after wedding)

5. Bought my dress

I'm in the process of looking for videographers.... I started planning way early because I'm starting Nursing school this fall and will be completely swamped. I can't believe we are only a lil over a year away!!

I am so happy there are some August 2010 brides out there! I have not done too much yet....we are going to Riviera Maya in two weeks to check out some of the resorts we are interested in, and then hopefully put down a deposit and finally set the official date! I am a teacher....so my goal is to get the save the dates out before the school year starts again!

There are so many options for save the dates!!! I think we are going to take our own pic on the beach when we go this August and create magnets on vista print.

Keep the updates coming...we are a year away! :)

Well, it is still looking like there are not too many of us out there yet for August of 2010. I am getting very excited because in about a week we will be off to Riviera Maya to tour hotels and pick one for our wedding! I am still trying to figure out save the dates and the bridal party...I didn't think picking the bridal party would be so hard! What do your bridal parties look like?

We are also wanting to take a scouting trip to Florida for our wedding in the next couple of months...As far as bridal parties, we most likely will not have one.. I want the two of us at the alter! We will probably have our siblings walk down the aisle and then be seated in the front row... nice compromise for us!

I am so excited to check out the resorts...the only reason we are able to do this is because my parents own a travel agency...very helpful when it comes to planning a destination wedding!

As far as the bridal party, I am seriously considering just having it be the two of us. We shall see.

Karima, I love your monogram...did you make it yourself?

Hi Rebecca! August weddings are the best ;-) So how does the whole monogram thing work? Do you design them, and then we download them to have on our computer? Sorry, I am very new at this, and not very good with computers. I've seen many of your designs and they are wonderful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
