Name: Carina

FI Name: Justin

Wedding Destination: RIU Palace Las Americas, Cancun

What made you choose this destination? We took our first vacation here, saw people getting married on the beach and fell in love!

Wedding Date: July 23, 2010

What made you choose this date? about 1 year away from engagement and both of our sisters have kids so we wanted them to be out of school AND pretty much a 0% chance of hurricanes.

Have you decided on your wedding colors? Watermelon aka bright pink

What is something unique about your wedding? Our parents have never met so this is sure to be interesting

Tell us anything else about yourself and/or your wedding: I am getting nerves about people booking, it seems like everyone is waiting until the last minute. The only people who have booked are my immediate family, mom, dad, sisters.

Hi Carina,

I'm in same position as you. Only people who have booked are immediate family, some friends are currently in the process of booking (looking at prices, waiting for best price to book), and some have said they really want to come but don't know if they will be able to afford it. My thoughts are if you are 3.5 months away from wedding date and you don't think you can afford it now, will you be able to save enough in three months?? It's not really something you can book last minute even if you could save that amount. Especially since my hotel is really small and there probably won't be rooms! YIKES! May be a small wedding afterall!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
