Wedding Destination: Grand Palladium, Montego Bay, Jamaica

What made you choose this destination? After research and long thought, this was the best choice to have all (ceremony, reception, all inclusive host resort) all under one roof.

Wedding Date: July 31, 2010

What made you choose this date? Like someone else mentioned, we were going to choose our anniversary date August 5th, but in Jamaica, it is near a national holiday, so we moved it to the weekend before.

Have you decided on your wedding colors? If so, what are they? Purple, Guava (orangish pink), and creme

What is something unique about your wedding? My fiance created a beautiful wedding website through wedmedo.com and you can do everything off that site. RVSP especially.

Tell us anything else about yourself and/or your wedding: We have been pretty much doing everything ourselves with family and friends helping.

I have a question for you ladies. What time are you having your wedding?

My ceremony is at 2pm. Since July is pretty hot everywhere, we want a nice cool reception. Are you ladies doing the same.

Our ceremony has been scheduled for 2pm but I'm trying to get a little later time! It will be so hot! If not...no biggie! With photos, champagne and all that...I'm sure we'll be ready for some AC during our reception! Some guests may even go for a dip in between. We've booked to have our reception at one of the indoor restaurants.

Update to my done list:
- Ordered and Received Thank You cards through VISTA PRINT
- Bought my shoes - wicked sandals from THE SHOE COMPANY
- Got clutches/make-up bags for my bridesmaids and MOH
- Ordered Personalized Two Tone Beach Bags
- Ordered Personalized Insulated Mugs
- Created Hats for our Dad's through VISTA PRINT

How's everyone else doing with the planning?

Classadiva: How exciting that you are doing a site visit! I wanted to do one also but FI and I decided against it. We're taking our chances since we ( and most of our guests) have never been to Aruba.

I'm still in the holiday mood and haven't really done much recently. There are six months left to go so I need to get busy again because July will be here before we all know it!

Yes...I am. The wedding ceremony will be at 4pm and the reception at 6:30pm....I figured that this would be a good time and not too hot.

Sheree...you will be fine...you can't go wrong with Aruba!!! Such a beautiful place, gorgeous beaches and IMHO THE best food in the Caribbean.

Our ceremony starts at 6pm. Cocktail hour and reception 7-10:30. Everything is going to be outside so I sure hope it's not too hot at that time in evening.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
