Question for Dreams Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am currently planning my wedding in Dreams Cancun Resort for May 8 2010. Has anyone worked with Cecilia Rangel. She says that I have this date but she has not sent me the proposal or has taken a down payment? (Its almost a month now)

If anyone has worked with her can you give me any advice in getting in touch with her?

Thank you

Judy

  • 3 weeks later...

Cecilia is my wedding coordinator. There are only a couple of them for Dreams Cancun and they are totally overworked. Now that another Dreams is opening, I believe they are sharing the two Dreams Cancun corrdinators as well so things will probably only get worse. It takes a long time for them to reply, but they usually do and most brides on this forum say not to stress because they are professionals and everything comes together. I actually ended up calling her and it was easier than email.

Hi Judy,

as Maria said, they're are only a couple of wedding coordinators and they are overworked, but they do a fantastic job.

Have you received the questionnaire yet from Cecilia? That's usually the first thing they send once you've reserved the date.

Once they receive that they will typically put together a contract and send it out to you and request a deposit.

But don't get nervous if you haven't given a deposit yet, they will reserve a date even without a deposit, they are not very strict in enforcing the deposit policy.

If you haven't already, I would ask Cecilia to send you the contract and information for paying the deposit. But if you've already emailed her recently, you may want to sit tight, sometimes it does take a bit to get a response.

Cecilia is also my coordinator...so far, she has been very quick to respond to my emails (usually within a day). She seems very nice and informative. However, I was the one paranoid about putting the deposit to reserve the date so that I knew there was no way it could get overlooked, and I asked her about three times for the instructions to send it (they dont take credit cards). The proposal only took about a week for me to receive. Follow up with her...I hear they get TONS of email, so if you let it get buried in an inbox that could be part of the hold up.

Cecilia is not our WC but I do know that they are so busy at Dreams Cancun and I received a reply from Cecilia for the new Dreams Riviera Cancun resort even though she is not the one looking after DRC...over worked I think could be an understatement! If you have not heard from her then send her another follow up email with her most recent reply attached. Good luck but everything will be just fine!

i have been having a hard time with communication also! i waited two months and received no response to the original online form. i tried an individual email and received a response but not enough to pin down a date!! i am worried they might be all booked up when i am looking!! i am thinking about trying to reach someone by phone.

did you get a date set up thru email? are you using a travel agent?

best,

lisa

Hi everyone,

Thank you very much for all the responces. You guys are such a great help. I finally heard back from her and got to send my deposit. I am very excited. She is alot more responsive with the emails now. :)

Lisa after I decided that this was the place I wanted to get married, I got very determined. I called the resort and left messages and emails. Cecilia did call me back and we were able to set our date...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
