Wipe board/Photo Guestbook

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone did this for their destination wedding or their AHR? I just bought my wipe board and was planning on leaving my small, digital camera for photos (because everyone knows how to use a digi now, right?) with the board and a small instruction card on a table ... but from experience, do guests like this idea or do they find it too much work?

Thanks ladies!

I was thinking of doing something similar, but I was thinking of bringing a portable photo printer for people to attach photos right into a scrapbook with some fun pens to leave messages right next to their pictures. Have no clue how it will work, but figured that over a week most people should have a chance to do something.

Yeah that's a really good idea and I considered that as well ... but the printing takes a little while (at least it does on the printer I have) and well, for a 4-5 hour party it kinda sucks to be stuck sitting there waiting for a picture to print out when you could be partying with the rest of the guests which is why I opted for the digital camera/wipe board idea ...

Seeing as it doesn't seem like anyone else has done or is doing this ... I'll let you girls know how it turns out in a week and a 1/2! :)

I am also doing this for our almost married reception this august!! My concern is the flash going to shine out the writing on the boards. I will have to practice and do some trial runs to see how it will work best.Anyone done a test run? Im thinking about asking the oldest boy I used to babysit for if we would want to do it and I would pay him! lol. If not I may recruit some bridesmaids.

Hey Miranda. We did this for our wedding. I put my MOH in charge of it and it was a big hit. She had a list of all the guests and checked off as she went along. Obviously that's easier with a DW having 30 guests as opposed to a large AHR. Anyway, I posted my slideshow the other day and some of the guestbook pics are on there. We had our photog take the pics, but I'm sure a digital camera would be fine. Oh, and everyone seemed to ignore the 5 words or less rule we put on there. Oh well!

I wanted to do this too for the DW, was it easy for the guests to get the photographer to take the pictures? I want to make sure we get a pic of every comment! - I like the idea of leaving a camera there, but I am worried I will forget it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
