Hi ladies,

Any great ideas/thoughts on making all the invites, RSVPS, AHR invites, and thank you cards match??

I'm doing message in a bottle invitations, so the invitation itself will be rolled up, and I'm planning on putting the RSVP's and info on booking through the TA in the box so that they won't get all curly.

1st Question: Do I need both RSVP's and info on booking through the TA? I think it would be nice to know who plans on attending, but the guests will need to make thier own travel arrangements through the TA... and I don't want them to have too much to do - I don't want them to think that ONLY sending an RSVP to me will be good enough, and I don't want them to only book through the TA as then I'm not sure if I'll know who is coming... Maybe I'm just being an idiot.

2nd question: Any ideas on making all the different invites/RSVPS/etc. match?? The message in a bottle has sand, seashells, and (currently) little beach umbrellas, but I might remove the umbrellas. The invites themsleves (although not set in stone yet - I'm trying out a couple ideas) will probably be tea stained with burned edges - or maybe be parchment paper that is just aged looking. I'd like everything to at least co-ordinate... There are some really clever ideas on the DIY forum, but they tend to focus just on the MIB or just the style of other invites... and I really want everything to coordinate.

3rd question: Is it too early to be thinking of all this stuff when I haven't even picked a location/colors or anything yet?? lol....

I really want to make the invites and get them sent, although I may be jumping the gun a little...

Thanks for all your thoughts!!

Quest 1: I did a passport booklet for my invitations and included an RSVP. We are doing a cruise but getting married in PR and my guests have the option of attending the wedding and the cruise. To limit confusion I asked for an RSVP and put all of the travel arrangement information within the booklet. I say the more information you gift your guests the better.

Quest 2: I don't know what style of wedding you plan on having bet it dressy or casual but since you are using the message in a bottle maybe a pirate type of theme if you are going the casual route.

Quest 3: NOPE not at all. At least you will have some sort of direction to go in once you choose your colors.

I'm still in the early stages of DW planning so maybe you could help me out :) How are you getting guests to book their flight and hotel. Are they booking all this through a TA? Or hotel through the resort, and flight only through the TA? I'm not sure what standard protocol is.

I saw that you're from Ottawa! My fiance currently lives there and I will be moving there shortly...any recommendations on TA's?

I love your invitation idea by the way.

I am working with a childhood friend who is a graphic design artist to make my invites. She did my sister's and my aunt's and they were so unique & beautiful. (They didn't do DWs though). Actually, the only people who know we are planning this right now are my parents, one of Matt's friends, my brother, our TA and my graphic designer. Our invitations are going out as surprises! No one will expect them so we want them to be spectacular (even though we've been together for over 5 years and are constantly asked when we're "making it official.")!

I intend to have RSVPs, the TA's info on a separate card insert (from past friend's DW experiences, we think it's important for everyone to book thru the TA) and the actual invite. As soon as she's done with our logo, I will post it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
