I am a newbie who is very excited about being a part of this forum. I am in need of help and after reading some postings, I definitely know that I have come to the right place.

I recently became engaged on Valentine's Day and looking to getting married in June of 2008 in Mexico. My biggest issue is finding an AI resort that kids and adults would enjoy. I was looking at the Occidental Grand Xcaret, but I read mixed reviews on Tripadvisor that was quite discouraging.

Please if anyone know of a place that would be affordable (< 600 pp for 4days/3nights) please assist me. I am trying to keep the entire vacation around 1000 pp including airfare.

Thanks so much for all of your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome! You definitely came to the right place! In the 2 weeks that I have been on this forum, I have gotten TONS of wonderful advice and everyone has been super helpful. I am actually in the process of planning my wedding at the Xcaret. I know a bunch of people that went there and loved it so I decided to trust them and go with it (although I am hoping to do a site visit in the end of august). If you are having a large group, I just got the group rates for a bunch of the Occidental hotels today!

I was the exact same way!! I decided on the Occidental Grand Xcaret but changed because of the reviews.. I'm now doing it at the Iberostar Tucan. Great beach and reviews. One of the girls is down there now from the forum checking it out.

Good luck

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
