When I saw the pictures, I did some research about the beach. I guess the government had some problems with the resort and their way of creating/preserving the beach (stealing sand?). I read an article that basically said 1)there were unsolved legal issues with the resort and govt 2) the resort was last on the list for beach rebuilding due to legal issues 3)the resort's owners were being stubbornhuh.gif and 4) the beaches were being rebuilt as of late 2009 but they skipped the Real Resorts (both).

I THINK the issues were resolved and the beach recreated but I am not sure. The person who posted the article link made a vague statement about the entire beach repair (all of Cancun) would be completed before February 2010.

Who was your wc? I all of sudden haven't heard from mine in about 3 weeks..and I am sending out my save the dates so I need to have the rate for my guests. I have her direct number I am going to call today...that really worries me.

Also, we are getting married on the beach and then doing the reception on the Villa Terrace..

This photographer has photos of a wedding in the chapel. Find Claudia and Oscar...Winnie Vallejo :: Professional Photographer & Videographer :: Cancun

I don't see any pictures of the chapel when I go to this photographer's page? I looked under Claudia & Oscar but all I see is TTD photos...I can't find any ceremony pics. What am I missinghuh.gif Please help! I'm desperately trying to find pics of a real wedding in the chapel.

Kimberly was our WC... now we have Angie. We are getting married at the chapel at 4pm and then having the reception at the beach wedding gazebo. The place is a mess when it comes to responding... hopefully they will get better now that the "office manager" is in charge of our account!

Val, we are getting married at the chapel November 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. You?

I originally scheduled the wedding for 4 p.m. but that didn't work out. View post/rant here

The venue is amazingly beautiful so we're still having it there but it's going to be at 10am. =/ Now we have no idea what to do between the ceremony and the reception, which probably won't start until 5p.m.

I'm frankly a little frustrated with the resort due to poor website maintenance and lack of urgency. They never respond to my emails and apparently this is a big issue for the resort. BUT I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and hoping they are just crazy busy and will be more attentive closer to the wedding date.

Did they make you turn in your letter from the priest before they booked the time?

I feel like I am getting inconsistent information every time I ask something. We too want a 4pm wedding (the weekend before you) and I thought once I paid the deposit I would lock in the date and time. Find out afterwards it's supposedly just the date. The time is reserved when we get something (supposedly not 'the letter' of final approval) to the priest in Cancun from our priest. I am a little hesitant on sending out the save the dates /telling guests to start booking since I really want a 4pm wedding. We were thinking of chaning the date by a day or two (maybe) if our date/time mysteriously disappears.

Does anyone have suzanna as a wedding coordinator?

Does anyone know where the cocktail hours are held? Have pics?

Okay, how did you get ahold of someone or did they just finally get back to you? I called on Monday and someone was supposed to get back to me, but no one has...I am starting to get a little worried...

I sent it my deposit and letter from my priest back in Sept/Oct and that only confimed the date. My wedding is in April 2010 (3 months away) and they still have not 100% confirmed the time. I want the wedding at 3pm and they said they blocked that time for me but they can't give me 100% confirmation until the day gets closer and the priest confirms his availability. That's what they said.... I don't know how much closer to date it has to be since my wedding is now only THREE months away...

Val, we have much to talk about.

Their outsourced representatives in Michigan told me the same thing (they needed a letter from the priest before the time was finalized). Apparently, they were incorrect and it's just that the 4 p.m. time-slot we 'booked' a la carte was already taken and paid for.

Wow... this is all so depressing! It's such a gorgeous place I can't believe they are so clueless.

Here is the email's I have for the church. Monica has been our contact at the church confirming out times and such (although I haven't heard from her in a while either...)

iglesiacristoresucitado@prodigy.net.mx

or

missmonicasan@hotmail.com

As for social hours, the prices seemed high for not that much. We plan on having everyone mingle at one of the bars and hopefully have them serving "blushing bride" drinks to all of our guests. As you can guess, this is all still up in the air.

If I get any more info I'll make sure to share.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
