VERY upset with Bittersweet Wedding designs right now!

UPDATE: Hi everyone! Just wanted to keep you guys up to date on what's been happening. Just came back from my DW. I had an amazing time! Paradisus resort flowers were perfect so I didn't even think about the flowers that Bittersweet never sent..

HOWEVER, that being said it's been almost a month since all this has happened and STILL NO REFUND. I received an email from crystal today and she informed me that it "is out of [her] own kindness" that I am receiving a refund and that she will not give a refund until I send back the flower order that she sent to me incorrectly. I refuse to do this as every promise she has ever made has not been kept (I never got a refund for my legal wedding bouquet, never got my flowers in time for the beach wedding after receiving the wrong flower order, and never got a refund for the deposits we paid despite her saying she would).

I have even offered to ship her flowers with cash on delivery (meaning that she will be required to send me a refund check in order to take flowers home from the post office). However, she still refuses to do this, which makes me VERY suspicious that she is not planning to refund me at all.. I have sent her a final request for cash on delivery shipping, and if she does not do this I will take her to court as well as inform the public about her company via newsmedia.

I can't believe that even after a MONTH since this has happened things are not resolved. To the brides who are waiting for your flowers, I would look into getting another vendor immediately. I wouldn't wish my "bittersweet" experience with crystal on anyone...

Thanks for listening and supporting me through this everyone! :) I couldn't have stayed sane without you all

I just wanted to post that Glamourina will be shipping the flowers to me COD. I think the miscommunication was that I don't have an account with any shipping company in order for her to ship COD so it will have to be done another way.

I also want to note that I have offered refunds to any brides that are concerned about receiving their flowers in time. I am back on track and people are getting their flowers in time, but I know it can be extremely frustrating and worrisome wondering and waiting. HOwever, if you would like a refund, it is taking some time. Without a long explanation, we have had alot go on since the fire and have been trying to keep up with paying people refunds for cancellations, as well as paying other companies that we had to hire to accomodate the rentals booked for the weddings that were immediately following the fire. Let's just say, it's insane how much some rental companies charge!!! So we are also trying to keep up with that. IT is in our contract that we don't give out refunds, but we are trying to keep some peace of mind for people.

It has been very difficult keeping everyone satisfied but we are continuing to work on it. It's gut wrenching to come online and read these kinds of posts about yourself. But at the same time, please remember that if I was going to bail on everyone and rip people off, I wouldn't respond to them. There is another site that I can't respond because of a "no vendor" policy, but I was always welcome to post here. And, I can take all this info and grow and be better from it.

We are doing things alot differently next year, and I'm praying to God that everything is cleared up really soon. The objective for new bookings is to book less, and in turn be able to offer more one-on-one time with each bride, whether it be for flowers, or decor. We are also dropping a few of our services, such as catering. I think this will make a huge difference in our ability to maintain the awesome customer service we used to be able to offer.

So please, don't think I'm a scumbag vendor looking to steal a buck. I'm really not. I've emailed "glamourina" and we are working things out. IF that means shipping COD with Canada POst, then that's what will work for me.

Blackrose, you WILL still have your flowers in time!

Just wanted to verify what Crystal had posted. Like she said, she has agreed to respond favourably to my second request to ship the flowers COD. I think this is the best way to keep us both happy. We are now working things out and hopefully this will all be resolved soon.

Glamourina - So glad things are working out!! I was VERY nervous after reading your posts. I am glad that you were happy with the flowers that you did use for your ceremonies. Can't wait to see some pics! Congrats!

I am also using Bittersweet and Crystal sent me an email to assure me that I will have my flowers in time for my wedding and that they will be ready to ship by 8/29. I just hope I get to see some pics of them first!

Just wanted to update everyone:

I have sent Crystal the package at my expense and the package has been sitting there for almost a week. Crystal has not picked it up and has not refunded us any money at all. She is now not even replying to my emails requesting that she pick up the package and pay us what we are owed.

You really need to read your emails before you post here. I HAVE replied to your email. I do not sit at home all weekend and am gone Friday morning until Monday evening due to other wedding things that we do. I didn't get a parcel card in the mail until today as I was not home to check it on Friday.

Please before you post, read your email. It has not been at the post office for a week. And remember that it was UPS that sent the packages to the wrong place, NOT me. Alot of other vendors you go to would not be refunding you for the flowers on top of the real flowers you had to purchase for the legal wedding. Especially considering the mixup was NOT my fault. So keep in mind that I am doing this and just because I haven't replied to an email that was sent while I wasn't around the computer, does not mean I've left the country and don't intend to refund you.

I've had alot of cancellations due to your post, and I was offering brides a refund on deposits to ease minds and to some pressure off myself. So I also have alot to keep up with right now financially because of this post alone. That was something I didn't have to do, but I did it because I am not someone out to make an unhonest buck and didn't want anyone to feel stressed out about their flowers.

I am no longer refunding for cancellations as of today because I am caught up and can handle the new work load.

For all other ladies waiting for pics from me, watch your email in the next 24 hours because they are on the way!

Actually, like I have said before, the package HAS been sitting there for almost a week. Anyone who is reading this can go the Canada Post - Mailing, Shipping, Marketing, Shopping, Sharing and type in this tracking number LH974829253CA for personal mail and will see this message: 2009/08/26 11:59 DRAYTON VALLEY Attempted delivery. Notice card left indicating where item can be picked up.

Crystal I said that it has been there for ALMOST a week. It is not in your best interest to suggest that I am lying, especially when I can prove that I am not.

It has not been at the post office for a week.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
