Sandals, Negril in Jamaica

My fiancé and I went to Sandals Negril to get married and have our honeymoon over the 4th of July. We hoped it really looked like all the beautiful pictures and had all the wonderful amenities we had seen in brochures and it truly did!

Once we arrived at the resort we were treated like rock stars! Everyone there was so nice and genuinely excited that we chose to come to their resort. We got a nice cold towel to cool off, drinks, food and a personal escort by our concierge staff person to our room. We didn't even have one of the higher room levels, so we were so surprised by the special treatment we were given. Our room was great, wonderful views and was cleaned everyday thoroughly. We had a refrigerator that was fully stocked with all sorts of drinks everyday too.

Our wedding coordinator was also wonderful, the whole staff in the wedding department was – we got everything we wanted without breaking our bank account. The wedding was absolutely beautiful; the reception, cake, first dance, pictures – it was all we had hoped for and more. There were so many special extra touches done by the staff; a little note at our wedding dinner, towels made into a heart in our room on our wedding night, even down to the staff remembering our names and calling me by my new married name.

We wanted something stress free, beautiful yet simple and we got exactly that. I also had my hair and makeup done at the spa, it was a wonderful experience and they did a great job. My wedding turned out exactly how I wanted it because the wedding department there really tries to make it special for each couple and customize it however you want.

We ate at all the restaurants on property as well and they had a great variety to choose from. We were able to have new things we have never tried in the states as well as traditional favorites. The desserts always had special touches added to them too. There was never a lack of food or drink at Sandals, we had a craving for something and we got it! The jerk chicken became one of our favorites, and the “creeper†drink. Julian at the Beach Grill was so great to us. We met him the first day, he made us feel right at home and by the end of the week we were taking pictures with him!

The resort is set up also so there was always something to do or an activity going on if you wanted to participate. Games, pool activities, tours, snorkeling, kayaking, beach parties, etc. We could do activities or just lay around on the beach or in a hammock. We are not big partiers and we found it easy to have a romantic dinner or walk on the beach without a lot of noise or people around. The snorkel staff was hilarious too, very entertaining and good dancers! The snorkeling was amazing too – we saw beautiful fish, coral, plants, etc.

The best part is that all of this was included. We stayed for our honeymoon also and were there a total of 7 days, the basic wedding was included and then you can add what you want to it and make it unique. All you have to do when you arrive is relax and enjoy it. My husband and I would go back in a heartbeat and would recommend this resort to anyone. This was our first time to an all inclusive resort and we are sold. We think being at a Sandals truly made the difference for us on this trip. It was everything we dreamed it would be and so much more!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
