TammyM's Cabo wedding review

Recommended Posts

Hola girls,

I'm back, and married smile29.gif. We had such a great time in Cabo..

Villa Del Palmar: B-

Great resort if you like to people watch and do all sorts of activities. Food sucked, sorry it did. One example was that we went to dinner one night and I ordered their steak combi meal and asked for it to be well done, I had to give it back to them THREE times and it was still pink, they ended up taking 15% off but that only ended up to be like 5.00.. I was pissed, but refused to let it ruin my vacation. After that we refused to eat at the resort so we went out every night.

Sheraton: A

The grounds were beautiful, the food was AWESOME and our room was great.

I won't go into detail on the below, because there are already a ton of reviews on these places, but if you want to know more, just PM me..

The Office: A++++ (best steak EVER)

Baja Cantina: A+

Romo & Joliet: A ( great Italian food)

De Cortez: A++

Night life: (both were packed every night and great fun)

Cabo Wabo

Squid Row

WEDDING DAY

Hair and Makeup trial at Sheraton: C-

OMG it was horrible, I had to have her redo my hair 3 times and it ended up looking "ok", then I had her start on my makeup and she acted like she had NO clue what to do.. so I just had her do by eyebrows (to test her) and they ended up 3 shades darker then my hair. Yeah I did my own makeup, I didn't trust her at all..

Massage at Sheraton: A+

Perfect,, wonderful, amazing... I was Sooo relaxed aftwards, their new spa is awesome and very nice..

Irma @ Sheraton: A+

She was great through the whole process and followed through with everything.

Maye C. A-

I was happy with Maye, she did a great job, the only reason I didn't give her a better grade is because she showed up 30 minutes last on the wedding day, so I almost had to leave the room with Juan without my flowers.. And as you can imagine I started to stress a little about that.

Juan Carlos: A+

OK so I only seen a couple pictures from his camera, but I'm dying to see the actual ones. He is so adorable and funny. He would leap off a building if he knew he would get a great shot.. lol He's just too cute.. :-)

De Cortez, wedding dinner: A+++

Awesome meal, everyone said it was one of the best they ever had.

Wedding day Hair: A

She ended up doing a decent job, I wasn't 100% happy with it, but it turned out ok.. She also painted "I DO" on my toes, which she said was her first time, and it turned out "ok"

Flowers: A+

I used Maye's vendor in San Jose.. They were perfect, and so pretty.. :-)

Wedding Cake, Sweet Dreams: A+

We did individual wedding cakes from Deena & Sweet Dreams, they tasted great and looked adorable.

The only question I have is....Why can't we see your face in the pictures L(

Your dress was beautiful.

How was Baja Cantina? I guess I'll pm you that question....

Thanks for the review Tammy.

Great Review!! Sorry about the makeup but, i think doing it yourself is the best route at least you know you'll be comfortable with the way you look.

Anyways, Everything looks beautiful!! Your flowers look amazing in that one shot.

Can't wait to see more!!

Congradulations! smile159.gif

Andrea,

Baja Cantina had great food, are you planning your wedding dinner there or rehearsal? It's "really" crowed there and vendors walk up to you all the time asking if you want to buy stuff. But it's a great location close to the water. IMO I would pick "The Office" over Baja Cantina, they won't allow the vendors to bug you, and the food was better.

I love you earrrings! Where did you get them!!
I ordered them online, their actually earring jackets. (it's were you can add your own stud to the earring) Its funny you say you liked them because everyone hated them when they seen them at first but once I had them on with my dress, it really pulled everything together and everyone ended up loving them.. lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
