I'm losing my mind

Recommended Posts

its official! soo i've switched from the riu palace to iberostar bavaro and now i'm doubting AGAIN!

I freaked out with the iberostar because of the lack of info available such as reviews and pics of other brides

Now i'm considering the Majestic Colonial vs Melia Caribe vs paradisus palma

Take a deep breath (or 2) relax, and look inside yourself. If you can define what's most important to YOU, it will point you in the direction just right for you.

BarbNHans found the venue that made their wedding the "best day of their lives" by following their instincts.....and you can too.

Sometimes the best progress is made with calmest reflection......things have a way of working out wonderfully.....you'll see.

its a really hard decision to make. have you tried other websites like tripadvisor or Debbie's Dominican Travel forum there's a whole weddings in dominican section so there might be some iberostar brides on there. I had found a few brides on tripadvisor that were married at my resort and i sent them messages and some showed me their pics, doesnt hurt to ask.

Don't worry...it only makes things worse! Only you will know what place is the best for your wedding. I picked the Majestic Colonial because it has gotten rave reviews, is within my price range for my wedding guests for 7 nights, has many options, and I had the opportunity to visit it and loved it! But you need to figure out what is important to you. Is having guests come a priority then check into resorts that are within that price range, etc. Use facebook groups or these posts to help but make a pro/con list too...it helps me alot with decisions!

Have you visited any of the places? For me it was an easy decision once I saw the resort. You can't go crazy with research you will drive yourself crazy and doubt your decision. I reasearched, picked 3 places, went to Punta Cana stayed at what I thought was my top pick, loved it, didn't look at the others, booked, and the biggest piece is to stop looking after you make a decision.

Hope this helps.

Have you visited the DR? I stayed at the Iberostar Bavaro for 2 weeks with a friend of mine and it's a nice hotel - we had great service and the grounds are really nice. The Paradisus Palma has a gorgeous beach area and I've heard great things about the resort, as well (looks very chic).

I saw one wedding at the Iberostar while we were there - it was basically on the beach right in front of our room, so not really private if that is what you're looking for. The Iberostar Grand looks really nice, though, so I guess it depends what you want for you/your guests. I know it's a tough decision - we chose our resort, sent out the STD's and then the hotel announced it wasn't opening - so at least you won't run into that with any of the properties you are interested in!

So i did the soul searching that you ladies mentioned and i can tell that my stress was coming from trying to keep the costs down for my guest to about $1kl a piece. However, i maynot even get the turnout i expected so now i'm looking at what makes me happy overall.

I am impressed by the jellyfish which helps me narrow down my search to resort close to it.

I contacted them to see what is available

You ladies are so encouraging and i really appreciate your perspective's!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
