Any Azul Blue brides out there?

Recommended Posts

I took a virtual tour last week and love the resort Although it is a little pricier than I was hoping for, everything looks fabulous so we are 99% sure. I would love to compare notes with anyone else considering Azul Blue!!

Are you getting married at Eurostar Blue Tulum? (Formerly Azul Blue?)

We just visited there last week and loved it but they haven't hosted a lot of weddings so we are nervous. Also, they don't have a sandy beach. What has your experience been working with them? Were there a lot of hidden costs? The prices they quote seem too good to be true. Are most of your guests staying there? Thanks for any adivice you might have! Sarah

Hi Sarah,

I covered a wedding there (Eurostars Blue) several months ago...

Elizabeth Medina Photography Blog Archive Beach Wedding: Courtney and Mark, Tulum, Mexico

And another just a few weeks ago (still working on the images for that one). There seems to be a new management in place. We were so impressed this time around by how the resort went over and above to make things perfect for the wedding. They even built a special dance floor and hung lighting for the dance floor especially for the wedding. The bride told me that the manager of the chain's hotels in Mexico came in to personally supervise.

There is not a sandy beach for swimming, it is rocky (which added a lot to the pictures I thought), but the atmosphere around the pool is great and the service/food is amazingly good. I think the resort has an intimate feel that is really nice.

Hope that helps! Elizabeth

Hi Sarah,

I am getting married at Eurostars Blue on 8/31/08. We are just beginning our planning process, so I can't speak to what the extra costs are yet, but I should know more soon. One downside is that they have had 4 different on-site wedding coordinators since I started this process, and I have had to go through the details with each of them! However, we visited the resort labor day weekend 2007 and found it to be wonderful - the food and service was spectacular. If I can be of further help, please let me know.

I just visited Eurostar Blue Tulum (formerly Azul Blue of the Karisma line but now under new management). I posted about it on my site visit.

The food was actually really good (for an AI) and the service was FANTASTIC. They seem to really want to build up their wedding buisness so they are willing to go the extra mile to make the day special. It's a bit scary to have a wedding at a place that has had so few weddings. Still its nice to hear all these positive things. There was also a robbery at one wedding over a year ago. That can happen anywhere but I think it really hurt their wedding program. Our main concern in the end is the lack of beach. We really want to get married on the beach. We will likely get married in Tulum and have our guests stay here.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
