What if no one dances?

Recommended Posts

OK,

Our wedding is 22 days away (leaving in 18 days!!!) and I am just putting together our play list ( I know Im a slacker:P) But I keep having these fears that no one is going to like our song choices and just sit around the whole reception. We will only have 25 guests and the ages are all over the place - 62 to 20 yrs old. How do I please everyone with out the playlist being completly crazy? OMG I am stressing!!!!!!!!!!! Any ideashuh.gif What songs really get your booty shaking?

There is a thread where some people put thier playlist on the sites. However I would say play a few dancing newer booty shaking song (let me know if you need help with this country or hip hop) then a slow song. If no one is dancing then do the electric slide or perhaps the chicken dance. Those always work

How funny- I was reading this thread and for my "Do Not Play List" I have included both the Electric Slide AND the Chicken Dance as well as the Cha Cha Slide.

We're having a cocktail reception, so I'm not thinking too many people are going to dance anyways.

I would suggest you play a little from each genre- maybe some 80's along with some music of today, with a little bit of disco and hip hop mixed in. It doesn't matter if it's all over the place if people are shakin' it!

OMG - I feel like I could have written this post! The thought of everyone just standing around with no one dancing is one of my biggest fears. We are a small group of about 20 people also, I was thinking of asking everyone for their top 5 song choices and combining these with our choices so everyone will be happy? Of course if I don't like some of their choices, I still have veto power LOL bunny_4.gif

Honestly, a good number of people didn't dance at my wedding and we only had 30guests. A few did and I should've just focused on them because they were having a great time.

Here's my advice. Do NOT let non-dancers get you down. I burst into tears and couldn't stop for quite some time. (They're not kidding when they say your emotions can get the best of you that day.) I feel like I missed half of the reception because of it and that's my biggest regret. Just worry about yourself and FI and you'll be fine. If people don't dance, they're the ones missing out on the fun, not you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
