Hi,

Just got engaged a week ago and now trying to pull off a destination wedding some time in Nov this year. We are focusing on Costa Rica but are open to other possibilities.

I'm def looking for info from others who have/are going to have their wedding in Costa Rica-- who to trust and what's the best option for a 20-30 guest ceremony.

Hi! I guess it depends on your budget and what type of wedding youre looking for. I know a few girls around here are planning wedding in Costa Rica. My fiance and I vacationed there last August so I can't really give you a wedding review but I can tell you about the specific resort we stayed at (only one in CR I've been to). It's called Paradisus Playa Conchal and is an AMAZING resort in the north west. If you want a really nice beach and lots of ocean life - probably not the best spot. I heard the East cost is much better for that. The resort however was beautiful, couldn't complain about the food or service. With that said, it was a bit pricey which is the ONLY reason we're not getting married there - because I didn't want to ask our guests to pay that much. For a week, including flights it cost us right at $5,000. It IS all inclusive so food and drinks were included in that price. There's lots of activities to do too. We did the kayak/snorkel trip (free) and the sunset cruise (free but book the day you get there! it fills up fast) and there were many other things we did not do. Anyway, here are some pictures if you're interested (including ones of the Liberian airport) Costa Rica - August 2008 pictures by Katie_T85 - Photobucket
Most of the staff spoke decent English, the housekeeping staff- not so much but they try really hard to be pleasant and speak slow spanish if you indicate you know a few phrases. I never felt unsafe or saw anything bad while we were there. This is getting long but feel free to message me if it's something you might be interested in and have any questions!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
