As for booking the wedding date, I think they start taking reservations for 2011 in February.

JNL, we are booking May 1st to May 8th as well, gonna go put down the deposit this week. Our preferred date would be May 5th. If ever we get married on the same day, do you have any preference for time of the day?
We're getting married in 2010 but just thought it was neat we're also going May 1st to 8th and our date is May 5th :) Yay just less than 4 months!

That's cool! Though we booked yesterday and ended up choosing April 30th to May 7th 2011, so that we could leave Saturday instead of Sunday.

Still very close dates. I wish my wedding was this year, like yours. It must be so exciting to be so close! :-)

I just contacted the wedding coordinator Yahimara to see available dates left for April/May ( I have to book last minute because of my fiance's unpredictable schedule). ILA has become so popular that there are only 2 slots left! Obviously we're choosing a great place since everyone wants to get married here! Unfortunately those dates do not coincide with deals I have found on line. sad.gif Those who have already booked, did you find that there was a significant discount with the group booking?

The price for the whole trip is only slightly less expensive than if I had been booking online. However, I do get a few perks like free seat selection for the entire group, and the best thing, one eprson is free for every 15 people that pay. All that 16th person has to pay are the taxes (just over 200$). We can either decide to not have a free person and pass on the savings to everyone (about a 70$ discount per person), or have us be the free people.

Hello!!

I'm getting married in April 2011 and I have a hard time choosing my resort...I'm stuck between Mexico and Cuba! As for Cuba, this resort is the one that I found the most interresting!!!

Does anybody knows if there's a gazebo? Is there special spot on the beach for weddings? Do they have nice decoration for the ceremony?? I would love to see pics!!!!

Can wait to hear about a wedding that took place at Iberostar Laguna Azul :)

Mags, you can see plenty of pics on the Iberostar Laguna Azul Facebook site! There are pics from the first weddings and tons of the resort, inside and out. It's safe to say that the 'gazebo' (more of an archway) is pretty sad looking, hopefully it will be better by April!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
